Anyways, at first I was having a real hard time with the game. I sucked I came in last of all the human drivers they were way better than me but that was fine, I like driving games im just not the best at them. Then I turned on the race line and something clicked for me. You need to go from the brakes to the accellerator like immediately when youre cornering and you turn so much better. I dont know if ive been playing racing games wrong most of my adult life but I remember reading the info that came with gran turismo for ps2, I forget the exact titles but the first one for ps2.
It said that your tires can only be doing 100% of something at a time. This is kinda obvious to read that but it went on to say that like, if you want to focus 100% on breaking then you cant be turning. If you want to turn, you cant be accelerating. If you want to accelerate you cant be turning. To get optimal results of course.
So I always thought you were supposed to break and then lay off the gas while you turn then hit it when youre ready. But that doesnt work in this game, if you dont get right on the accellerator you turn like a cargovan. So I havent been back online since i figured that out, but it helped my driving a lot. Im still not very good, but its been instrumental in getting better results.
Only joking.
Fantastic post and I wholeheartedly agree with it.
That's the exact post I would have made if I could have been bothered ;-)
Well done CM, well done!
Worthwhile feedback is always worthwhile. However, Steam forums do seem to contain a particular breed of fools, so I don't envy your task of having to sift through the mountain of tripe. ;)
After one day here is my temporary apreciation:
_very good learning curve in this game
_much better car behavior when you hit or get hit by an opponent
_the constant drift fest is gone, and the correct use of the break pedal is a must
_very good handling with a logitech g27 (beware my uninformed opinion on this one, just bought it and didn't really try it on other game)
_quite a tension when being in the middle of a pack of cars, but no fear of being thrown into the decorum
_doesn't take 1 minute of menus-browsing to exit the game anymore.
_Smashing your car will cost you money, good add
_Omg, really, the same tracks again ?
_even the model for the spectators are the same
_8 dlcs to come, where is the puke bucket ?
Finally we get the Grid 2 we should have gotten, and that we already paid for. You made us bleed 50€ more (for what should have been a free game fixer) and you are still gonna roll on us the dlc scam (shame on you all the yes-men at codemaster). I feel really mixed bout all this. Satisfied and shamefull (to be such a sheep) at the same time.
Grid Autosport is agreat game. Since you're a veteren gamer (as I am). I wonder if you ever played the Microprose F1 games? They were brilliant. :-)
