Always on Attack. Sometimes it just feel like he is having hangover or something.

That's my teammate on the final straight at Sepang Circuit. 20 secondes after I told him to go full throttle. (he was 2nd place so I thought, what the hell)
Yeah... He managed to flip the car going straight. I haven't seen a single competitor wipeout or slide or anything, but my teammate, he's able to obliterate the car on the safest part of the circuit!
Can't we mod them to behave like Ravenwest, hell they might even catch up to me or beat me :)
I'd say you have 9/10 chance they wipeout and end up last, no matter the position they were in previously. Leave them on standard or push.
I'm not that high up the tree yet, so haven't had a chance to test out Ravenwest as a teammate, I hope that'll improve things. Still doesn't excuse the Russian dashcam crashes the "rookie teammates" make.. :P
I just ran a touring car race, I finished 1st in the 1st race, he finished almost last. I think he started like 3rd or 4th.
So I told him to defend his position. He fell to 8th almost immediately. So I told him to push. He fell to 10th within 2 minutes.
So I told him to attack. He finished dead last.
I seem to notice that once you tell them to push or attack, they just lose it completely. I guess CM were going for some balance, that you can't just have your teammate attack all the time with no penalty. So they wanted it so that if he attacks, he gets a bit reckless, and could end up losing places instead of gaining them.
But they just didn't seem to be interested in fleshing this out at all.
I have found pretty much no difference between balanced and defend, and using push and attack has never gained more than a single place, which has swiftly been lost, and he has ended up further back than he started.
The only time I had a teammate do well was when I luckily managed to push up to him in a touring race, and I stayed behind him, holding off the other cars for the entire race. Halfway through the last lap I decided I would go past, leave him to get second while I win. In just that half a lap he lost 2 places and ended up 4th. But at least it was better than the usual last or second to last.
Teammate AI is the worst I have ever seen in a racing game. I don't know why they couldn't have someting similar to the original GRID teammate system, which was excellent.
