It is commonly known that Codies games corrupt save files if saved to the steam cloud servers. This does not affect everyone but it has a lot of people. Whether it be Grid 2 or many of the numerous F1 games. Perhaps even Dirt but not read about that game haveing issues personally.
I had a lot of hours in Grid 2 and F1 2013 wiped because of this. But save those files to HDD and back em up. Just do a periodic copy of that files in your Mydocuments folder or where ever its located now. (perhaps someone can clarify?) But I suspect C:/User/Documents/Mygames.

Honestly this is an issue unlikely to change whilst Codies use this engine orr whatever the problem is. It has been reported in Grid Autosport already in these forums but it can't be stressed enough while the game is still fresh for you. TURN OFF CLOUD SAVES AND BACK UP SAVES!!

Save folder is located in your Steam folder so the path may be :

C:/Program files (x86)/Steam/userdata/255220

Just back up that folder and keep it on your dropbox for example.

It should actually be within your C:/Steam/userdata folder/##### Which number it is I haven't worked out yet. I suspect it is "255220" as this was the last modified today with a local save file inside.

Odd. Most posts i find relating to Grid 2 point to user data. However it seems you need to back up both parts just in case. I've seen posts where people have deleted the folder i mentioned and it only erased half the data. I guess they just made it easier now.

Just a recommendation made to me only a few weeks ago you could try using this software Gamesavemanager: http://www.gamesave-manager.com/

I was told some save filesaves also integrated into associated reg files so also need those reg files to be be able to restore in the case of a system crash/windows reinstall etc.

It's free too so perhaps have a gander.

For me on win7 x64 the savegame is where most steam saves are:

X:\STEAM\userdata\xxxxxx\255220\

xxxxxx being my steam account number.
