Atrocious controls
I’ve never been so frustrated, in my entire life, with the control of a car. The game is unplayable with my steering wheel and with the keyboard its just awful – the throttle control and steering is “all or nothing” because there is not the precise control that a steering wheel is supposed to give. Its almost impossible to steer in the twisty bits of a track with a keyboard (Razer Blackwidow).

What wheel is that?

Hmmm, which wheel do you use? I have a Logitech G 27 and have a good feeling for most of the cars (but I am a casual gamer and not a simulation enthusiast who can do perfect laptimes in games like rfactor 2). I play without assists and enjoy the handling, but took me a while to find the right settings.
If you want, I can send you my settings.

Perhaps you need to set your wheel up correctly?

I use a keyboard mainly and I have no problem whatsover. It's not the ideal way to play but I play most of my racing games with keyboard and only a few out of dozens are totally unsuitable.

I don't know how much experience you have with the keyboard but it takes a certain set of skills and is a learning curve in itself. There is no CM game and I have them all which are unsuitable other than the F1 series.

Hi guys

@ Meszes - It's not a state of the art steering wheel - Logitech Formula Force EX.

@ HumptyDumpty - I use this wheel with most of my driving sims e.g. All my F1 games (since very first one), Assetto Corsa (which is a very precise and realistic sim), Race07 series, most NFS. Rally games I must admin I prefer the keyboard. But yeah maybe I could try your setting it might just work.

@ Axe – I’ve tried more than an hour without any positive results. Now this is very strange, since I on the other hand have tremendous joy with my F1 games.
Thanks for the response guys.

Happy gaming.

Hi Desperado,

an important advice for you:
The steering setup in F1 2012 / F1 2013 and Grid 2 / Grid Autosport looks same but works partial contrary - especially the saturation of steering, throttle and brake.

My Setup:

F1 2012 / F1 2013

Steering Deadzone 1.00%
Sterring Saturation 0%
Steering Linearity 0%
Throttle Deadzone 5%
Throttle Saturation 0%
Brake Deadzone 10%
Brake Saturation 0%

Grid 2 / Grid Autosport

Steering Deadzone 0%
Sterring Saturation 50%
Steering Linearity 0%
Throttle Deadzone 5%
Throttle Saturation 90%
Brake Deadzone 10%
Brake Saturation 90%
