But why you need it on STEAM? I have it on old DVD *lol*
The DVD version won't work with the last several Windows versions due to the copy protection software used.
Worked on WIN7 Ultimate64, even with DaemonTools without problems!
And now running fine on WIN10 PRO 64. Not yet tried the built in VirtualCD thingy... ;-)
It refused to even install fully for me on any operating system after XP. My disk had Starforce.
I think that there is a way to modify later Windows versions by turning off some of the security settings. I think that you have to boot it up in a certain mode to get to the option to turn it off. I'm not sure that I want to do that. Starforce does odd things.
Maybe Starforce has come out with some patch or method to get it to install on newer Windows versions. I don't know if Microsoft wants to allow them to do so. I think that that option has something to do with allowing un-approved system files.
IDK, if it's a difference in Versions, but i have the german "DTM Racedriver3" and not "TOCA Racedriver3".
But if i were you, i would just try it! :)
I think, with polished graphics and a little bit more realistic physics, Racedriver3 would still be one of the most complete racing games.... ;-)
UPDATE:
Just tried the integrated ".iso support" from WIN10 and it's working perfectly!
So no need to search for your disc every time you wanna play *lol*
But since GRID, Codemasters became too arcadic for my liking. Just bought GRID Autosport at last Sale and tried it out, because i read, it had become more realistic again.....but nahhh.....still driving like drunken at ice :(
its terrible what devs do with their games, how they mess things up and they continue releasing garbage after garbage to their fans. and u know what, its our fault too bc we keep fallin for the same old song and dance that is their promises and assurances that they'll give us what we want. this is true for alot of major game dev'ing companies: Activision, EA, DICE, Treyarch, UBI Soft, and the list goes on.
Fans pretty much never know what they want, and good developers recognize this. Autosport being as fantastic as it is is because Codemasters themselves wanted that. Nah, what you so-called "fans" need is some Ridge Racer, and I don't mean Unbounded.
ok sweet heart no reason to get excited now. i was comparing the game play of GRID and ToCa. one is a little more arcady than the other in the gameplay and physics. idky ur getting aggitated and calling us mindless. theres no reason to get ur panties in a bunch, we have the right to share our opinions too, darling.
PS. I AM a fan, and i KNOW what i want. i want a simulator, not an arcade. hence, my wanting ToCa on steam. i know im so out of this world crazy with my demands, huh.
Saying that Codemasters has become fruitless and that none of their games are worth buying is not an opinion. Saying that a game is something that it never was is not an opinion. Refusing to even consider why a developer would do something, then proceeding to criticize the developer over your own ignorance, is not an opinion and is also not a choice.
The only thing you want is for the world to appeal to your twisted sense of nostalgia, and I'm not sure you know that.
wow man ur so butt hurt. first of all i HAVE played BOTH games. I know what the ♥♥♥♥ im talkin about. Toca racer 3 is more of a simulator WHEN COMPARED TO Grid 1.
second, saying something isnt worth buying IS an opinion that ALOT of people share about ALOT of games and game devs. saying that something IS what it is or how i feel it is, IS an opinion. ur so overly dramatic for no reason. if u dont like our opinions, and our descriptions of the devs, go play ur game and stay the ♥♥♥♥ out of this forum, fool.
or stay here and continute to poke at my OPINIONS with ur tears and butt hurt about everything all you want. im just gonna go ahead and unsubscribe. run along now little one.
