The AI is cheating, it's not your fault!

I know all of you who have played in the career mode have wondered how in the hell anyone's supposed to win a race in this game. Here are the facts:

When you're racing for lower class teams, expect to have a slower car. Imagine a real racing team. They don't have as much money to spend on their cars, but they also don't expect you to win. They set their expectations accordingly. Just race, keep your targets in mind, and have fun.

Be very cautious when racing alongside the AI drivers. They cannot be pushed off a racing line, and they WILL push you off yours. Also make sure you're not scraping together as you're coming out of a corner, they will stick to your car and, along with themselves, push you off into the sand. It can cost you a race.

Codemasters obviously missed the ball big time with the AI in this game, and substituted with a huge dose of artificial AI speed in the form of catchup, or rubber-band effect.

Now, when you've made a name for yourself, the big boss team Ravenwest will extend an offer for you to race with the top dogs. Their cars have tons of money invested in them, and they are among the fastest, if not THE fastest cars on the grid.

This, however, doesn't mean jack. You know how Ravenwest are always qualifying at the top when you're with a lower class racing team? You know how they have the fastest cars? Yeah you will still have a very very tough time qualifying in the top 3 due to the catchup "feature". Sometimes there are no qualifying runs and you'll be starting in last place with your teammate one above. When you're with Ravenwest, you're in last place. You don't get to benefit from working hard in lower teams and being rewarded with faster cars in the top team.

Now the part that may surprise you is that even in the actual race event, you will be very lucky if you win. The other racers will get a HUGE catchup speed boost (even when they're one second ahead of you) and you will be unable to catch them. In this scenario just try to race your own race, forget about them, and hope they crash out at some point.

Remember, you have the fastest cars in Ravenwest. Your team invests lots of money into their cars and their upgrades, but it counts for nothing when you're racing for them. Other lower end teams will get catchup and beat you anyway. It's not your fault. Don't beat yourself up about it. Curse Codemasters' terrible AI coding and try to have fun in your own race. Savour the moments where you actually get good racing, and try to ignore the rest of the terrible AI.

also bots are using very different physics than the player(heavily modified grip levels, and to a lesser degree the performance), which reduces whole idea of a racing game to absurdity. AI cars does not behave even remotely close as they behaving while being driven by player. Even same cars are not comparable, basically player and AI are using different rules of game physics, what in the tuck is the point of races like this.

ofc most arcade games use modified physics for ai drivers, but this is worst and hardest ive seen, zero fun, on harder difficulty they just have over the top cheat level of grip and performance, plus they completely dumb.

this makes a lot more sense now, I think im pretty allright and I have won most events except for the endurance ones because ravenwest is insanely fast.

turn off the ABS after doing it i win almost every event on medium dificult with razer

Im just installing this again and remembering this, loved to drive at 20-30 mph to hold up the AI so my horrible teammate could win and take a 1-2 for the team haha
Play a racing game to not race but be a total psychopath to win it all.
