checking guards phones

so in the tutorial the first phone worked, the second doesn't checked no matter how much i put in into the check machine, do i need to press something or just pass the phone into that check machine?

i used from the tutorial, where the first guard got checked but the second phone i tried in the same scanner and didn't worked

Each scanner can only be used once. A patch or two ago they added a color to the scanner which is green if it hasn't been used yet, and red if it has. Also only the green scanners will be bordered in a white outline that you can see through walls. If you use a pager on any of those green scanners, you're good.
