Stuttering, Crackling, and other stuff during playback.........
Anyone else having this issue? I do not have the Steam version mind you, but I have a hard copy that I installed from a disc.

Basically I can solo play all my tracks and they sound fine, but when I go to play the full song after the first couple bars it starts stuttering and making a crackling sound. It is not my speakers mind you, this is some issue with the software I think.

PC:
Intel Core i7 2.8Ghz
Windows 7 64-bit
RAM: 12Gb
Using On-board sound which I think is RealTek or something like that
Not that it is relevent in this situation, but I also am running an Nvidia EVGA GeForce 660FTW 3Gb vid card.

Also does anyone know if there would be a way to activate my hard copy through Steam or obtain a Steam Key? If the Steam version runs better for some reason it would be handy to have a key.

So the other opition is make sure sound is turned down not full blast

Sound volume is definitley not the issue. Volume would not cause stuttering. I'll double check my drivers though. Thanks.

Nope not my speakers. My speakers are good. I did find that deleting the track containing the Revolta Power Guitar seemed to have fixed the issue.

This really shouldn't be happening though, the program should be able run the tracks I had all at the same time. Unless there is a bug with the Power Guitar.

I had a drum track, power guitar track, and a power chords Simple Cab 2 track and after about the first two bars that is when the stuttering/lag would start. Taking the Power Guitar out of the equation seemed to fix it for now. I will try adding another track and see if the problem returns.

Hey yeah I can't remember what I did now. I havnt messed with this program in a long time. Caustic was recently updated so if you don't need a VST. You could theoretically use another program with a VST and export your samples as wavs and then integrate them in Caustic.

But yeah I havnt been in the mood to make tracks for a while plus havn't had time.

Sorry for necroing a dead post, but I didn't see the solution anywhere immediately relevant.

Magix runs by default on ASIO output which can cause a lot of issues in sound playback if your device is not equipped with ASIO drivers.

Try going to program settings (the gears in the top left) > then into the Audio/MIDI tab > and on the left side select Wave driver, then try running one of the test tracks and see if that works for you!
