Does MAGIX Music Maker let you record own songs with midi keyboard/drum kit?

At the moment I'm looking for a music editing program where I can record my own keyboard/drums music with a midi cable.

I know Pro Tools does this, but its really expensive and I'm not sure if it would be worth saving up for (though I haven't ruled it out), as it would only be for personal use rather than business.

The last edition of Music Maker I used was the 2004 edition and that was just for playing around with the sound pools. I'm wondering if MAGIX Music Maker 2014 Premium supports installed midi instruments, and if it works well in the program; this would be ideal as its more in my price range. Any other software suggestions would also be very helpful (win7 compatible). Thanks.

Music Maker 2014 supports midi instruments. As for software suggestions check out Sonar X3 (also available on Steam).
