Silent Storm Sentinels

Silent Storm Sentinels

Invisible Enemies?
So I have the problem that from time to time enemy soldiers are invisible. First I noticed it in S², now also in S³. I was playing the UN-Mission and right at the start my sniper didnt saw two enemies 10 meters away. First I thought that might be some super-soldiers with incredible cover. Later, he spotted enemies all the way down.

But then things went strange. Me soldier walked down a corridor in camo. Suddenly his camo was blown, so I switch to Turn-based mode and looked around. I look in each direction and the walls werent that far away. I found nothing and thought it might be a bug. In enemy turn a solider with a MG showed up one step left to my man and killed him.

So, how is this possible? A bug? Because I use mods? Am I the only one with this problem?

It's probably their stealth level and your spot level ... I can sneak up to enemies on my scout and hack them to pieces with a machete and they're still oblivious to the fact I'm crouched behind them, even when they turn around to look around ...

My Sniper is Level 7 with a Spot-Skill of 67.

So how am I suppossed to finish this mission? Let my men die, reload a save and throw nades at the inivisibles?
It this the mission where you have to get to the end to disarm the explosives, I think i remember one like that and most of the enemies didnt show up till they shot at me or, i walked past them .. was a while ago ... s'pose you could save it at the start of each turn, then if you spot something, reload and chuck grenades .. that'd work

.. Cheat .. I cheated. :) Turn on the console, bump up their level to fifty-something, activate all the perks and abilities, the put their level back down to what it was before. I found this a fun way to play it after I got sick of some of the ridiculous stealth-levels in Sentinels. :)
Bah! ... lol

wasnt there a console-order to show all the enemies?

"cheat_showall 0/1"

This worked for Hammer and Sickle, maybe it works here

Yeah HERD, the console command is "cheat_showall 1", you remember it right.
I didn't want to cheat outright, but I found their ability to hide a bit unrealistic. So my 'fix' was to note what XP level my characters were on, use the console command "setxplevel 50", which gives each character a whole ton of ability points, then you can freely choose what extra abilities to grant to each player. Whatever you feel will balance out that crazy-stealthy hiding ability some enemies have. Some of those sniper spot abilites are very useful.

Then I type "setxplevel X" where X is the level the players were before. ..You can use this trick to cheat outright, but you can also just use it to nullify those things that make the game annoying to you. :)

The full list of codes, and how you enable the console, is easy to find. Just Google "silent storm console"

I guess I'll try the cheat_showall first and disable it when I finished the mission

Thanks for the tips. I'm pretty sure it's a mistake. I looked with all 4 men a hall down and they didn't saw the 4+ enemies. They appeared after each other (I killed one, the next round another started shooting me).

Even with the cheat showall, it appears, that sometimes an enemy is on another position then showed. Damn this mission sucks.

Even though this Scenario Zone's AI level is supposed to be level 7 or so, the Hide/ Stealth values given to the bad guys, via the "Act of Terrorism" (SM3) script, are 85-110 (around lvl. 10-14).
Custom settings responsible for enemies' ability to hide are by-passed here as well.
Most have 80-100% probability regardless of custom settings.

Spot 67 might not be enough to reveal them.

Solution: come better prepared (do some REs, level up) or cheat...

Your choice. :)

...cheat show all... skips the full animation unless those units are actually visible to your party (or your allies). That's why they might "suddenly" appear in a different location or "skip" to a different spot.

It's normal, folks.

These soldiers are just high-sneak ones. No cheats needed - just spam grenades behind corners.
