Mod is pretty hard for new players as it was designed for experienced players. So yeah, that's how it should feel.
RE mosly have different scenarios. The one you mentioned has 4-5 random variants. "Americans" is a "peaceful" one, where you don't have to do anything (except exploring maybe). You still can shoot them and grab their weapons, but that is quite unnecessary. AFAIK this map has a very high chance to meet bandits shooting each other or bandits patrolling the area.
If you mean russians guarding a small factory, they become hostile when you either attack or damage them. Killing bandits will only make them change diplomacy from "blue" to "green" (i.e. neutral => friendly).
Im playing just REs with your mod and its a lot of fun. Economy seems to make sense more, variativness and intensity is strong! Your mod basically fills every gap vahilla had.
Enemy reinforcement in intro mission was a overkill for a guy without a gun (Boris took the mauser! )) ). but I managed to run from them, bug or feature lol))
Second mission im Switzerland was actually less difficult than in vanilla. I remember house with rifleman was well guarded in vanilla, but it was just that one guy with rifle with your mod. Placing a couple of thugs in ambush there can do good.
After that point, fun started to kick in really fast. You added a crapload of replayability and sense into gameplay.
Really enchancing game which is already good just using stock stuff and whatever you had under your hand is a work of master! Cheers!

P.S. Was anything weird? Yep! Couple of thor guys were shooting from their pistols at me, they shot whole clip in rapid real-time succesion at the floor near them judging by animation, not that turn-based kind of fire for sure, but I saw bullets flying at me. Some kind of glitch for sure.
There were no guards placed in that house in vanilla. The shooter was the only enemy there. Changes made to the house: locked door and some new loot (money).
Yeah, that was a glitch. Several enemy AI units had animation issues because I forgot to double check their ID's to fix things.
It makes me sad that your mods are not getting enough attention! As an occassional modder (for other games) I know how that could be a bit discouraging and demotivational.
Well just know that at least one person out there like me, is dying to play and see more stuff from you (especially the True Terror project). Keep it up!
BTW: I was just wondering if there's any chance of merging it somehow with the additional clothes/armor/uniforms from the More Uniforms/Blunters mod? I reckon there were a few older versions that included only uniforms and no gamepla changes, maybe that one?
Merging is possible but it will take time: someone will have to make new IDs in Redesigned and transfer textures, strings and stuff from unifroms mod. They can't be combined without much editing. Several monthes ago I asked Blunter if I could use his uniforms. He didn't reply so I guess he is rather negative about it or too busy IRL. Today I am not interested in this anymore.
Just google Silent Storm Cheats or codes. There is plenty of them out there.
If you need money in Sentinels, do this:
open console and type
PlayerGiveMoney(0, 10000)
this cheat will grant you $10000 or more if you add more zeros. Usually several millions will buy you just everything.
How did you install 1.03 update?
You should send the files to Redesigned folder. Only Redesigned mod should be activated in modification menu.
