Divine Frequency

Loved it! Then the duel happened...
My gripe has nothing to do with the difficulty. It just felt so out of place. The entire demo was full of suspense, dread and anxiety. Then the duel thing came up and all those feelings left.

All the running full speed while dodging and blasting while hes charging around launching ♥♥♥♥ from the sky, all it made me think was "oh yea I am playing a DOOM total conversion mod/wad" unlike before I was so immersed and on edge my subconscious didn't have time to think about anything else.

Silent Hill has boss fights, yes they are not big flashy challenging moments but they never break the tension or atmosphere. I wish they were an extra separate mode like mercenaries from Resident Evil. Even if they are optional in the main game, people like myself will be forced by their brain to do them when the pop up even if they don't want to. The best way to describe how it felt to me was if you were playing Silent Hill and after each section/chapter you had to do a music rhythm mini game for 10-20 minutes.

Other than that though i absolutely loved the demo. I not a fan of jump scare games but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the demo has some genuinely good ones that are well paced. Hearing foot steps then turning around to the mannequin made me ♥♥♥♥ a brick and later on I walked into a room picked up an item and turned around to see some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ standing in a corner behind the opened door. Still not sure if He was always behind the door or he spawned in when I picked up the items. lol

Edit: Solace Dream is a great example of a Silent Hill inspired DOOM TC that still had challenging boss fights that stayed with the feel and spirit of the overall game.

imo that fight was cool. I love when games aren't shy to try and change the pace only to change it again later. Keep playing with my feelings, devs

Also while absolutely loving silent hill trilogy, boss fights in these are really bad example. Low point in any silent hill game for me

I get the immersion aspect of it HOWEVER

The boss fight doesn't feel out of place because of the whole premise. I dont early access. Except Selaco, and this game. And To Kill a God.

I agree with sneaky-G, you're playing the role of a psy-hobo here who's trying to mater the inner world. Having Matrix-tier fights is just a cool stepping stone on the way to dominance
