Not sure yet, but the coaster probably uses the same tool. Maybe that is why "sharterFTW" had crashes with the paths and the coasters. That tool I am talking about reminds me a little of Roller Coaster Tycoon's way of making coasters, only this tool has more to it than that. I will come back to add more if there is more to add on this issue.
I hope this helps, I am a huge fan of Roller Coasters. I had been watching this since release, but was not interested till it had coasters to build. I may try the other tools till this one is fixed.
As I understand it, you had 2 straight path pieces placed chose to build a hub and then changed your mind. Had you already pressed build before choosing your next straight path?
@SharterFTW, posting your specs also might help.
To you both, so far my game hass been very stable, the only time I had any crashes was when I tried doing several things at the same time. Take it slow and don't rush things. Remember this is not like a RPG or FPS where quick timing is a must.
Also the driver version that you are using and which OS!
So all that is necisary for me to reproduce the issue is to first make sure I am far enough away that I can place any "Specialty Segments". I click on that specialty segment, and instead of building it, select any regular path pieces right afterwards. If I actually build it, I am OK and can continue to build.
I do not have a problem doing that same thing if I go select more than 1 "Specialty Segment" and then choose the normal pieces.
Error that comes up says...
// Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library "This is the bar at the top"
// Runtime Error! "Image of red 'X' to the left of this sentance"
// "Path to my install which is not on the same drive as the OS"
// R6025
// - pure virtual function call
Also my computer specs are below, I can get the DxDiag if you want that much info, but that is a little personal. Also, my computer had been rebuilt and I had re-installed Windows about a month ago. I also keep it clean with CCleaner from Piriform and use a Registry Cleaner.
OS - Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
CPU - AMD A10-6800K - Richland 32nm Technology
RAM - 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-10-24)
Motherboard - ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. A88X-PRO (FM2+ )
Video Card - 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 (ASUStek Computer Inc)
To make sure I understand and can retest though you place any coaster type, select a speciality piece but don't build then select a regular track piece and it crashes? Thank you Derakoduran.
