thps4 concern

i'm not surprised that pro skater 4 was going to have the 2 minute goal format, but can you make it so when you beat or 100% the goals for 4 that you unlock the original pro skater 4 career mode? just as a bonus or a hard mode completion?

(edit: this was posted before the activision support post came out, it’s been stated that it includes EVERYTHING from the original 3 and 4, and the new game+ relates not only to replay the tours like in 1+2, but it looks like it will include “more challenging goals and tougher tricks to land.” and screenshots indicate that the career mode from original 4 may be in the game, as there are specific objects that would normally spawn in the original game during a specific goal and in the skitching footage it looks like that same quarter pipe from the screenshot isn’t there so who knows, either way i’m really looking forward to this game with the given trailers and gameplay footage that is out at the moment. doom slayer (and reverent ofc) being in the game as well is a much appreciated homage to the fact that he was in the original thps3 pc port as well. anyways it’s looking like a huge W so far and iron galaxy seems to be listening as well as vicarious visions was.)

this link (the original press release btw) suggests that there will in fact be a career mode. Which makes me think they'll recreate the career mode but it doesn't say if 4's career mode will be recreated. I'm assuming they will, but we'll have to wait on it.

It's been a bit since I played 1+2, but wasn't the normal mode just called "Career Mode"? As opposed to like single session, free skate, online, etc

ya the wording on the website seems to imply both career modes will play the same

Not a deal breaker for me, but it is disappointing. Not sure how well a 2-minute run format works for the THPS4 levels, as they're a lot larger than the THPS3 levels. Hopefully it doesn't mean changing the scale of the levels or removing certain sections.

I'm a huge THPS4 fan since i was a kid, but on the other hand, i'm actually curious to see how a 2 minute run format will work on the levels, they'll def remove some goals that were more stupid imo

my thoughts exactly. still looking forward to this game and curious what they're gonna do with the format but it would be nice to have the option as an unlockable/bonus mode to play a lot of those original goals again. (just now saw this btw, wonder if it's gonna be related to the "thps4 tour" they referred it to as on the xbox news post, and they also referred to "the original tours" from both thps3 and thps4 so who knows really)

I genuinely won't buy this if the original 4 career mode won't be included lol

From the activision support page:

"After completing Career mode, the New Game+ option gives you a chance to return to the tour with all the stat upgrades you acquired in your first playthrough, but expect more challenging goals and tougher tricks to land."

So there will at least be different goal sets, which is good for veteran players.
Personally don't like TH4 format, so if it's 2 minute timer, fine by me.
