I've played Grand Mountain Adventure from one end to the other, and I have to say that I like Lonely Mountains a lot more. GMA is fun, but it's definitely the weaker game.

Grand Mountain Adventure started out as a mobile game and some of its design choices made their way into other versions: very basic controls and a UI that bears the hallmarks of its touchscreen origins, which can be (I found) a little janky to navigate on controller.

That said, I like it a lot. Performing tricks can be oddly satisfying (I like doing the rodeos) and despite its simplicity some of the later challenges are no pushover. I think I like them (LM:SR and GMA) about the same to be honest, though I haven't put as much time into LM:SR as GMA yet so that might change.

I hope Toppluva can bring GMA2 to Steam at some point.

My biggest problem with Grand Mountain Adventure was the randomness of some challenges (like wildlife and weather on slopes) and not seeing where you are going (it was much bigger issue than in this game). Slopes in this game are more tight, but when you fail, it's your own fault, not some RNG.

Best part of GMA was that if you didn't like one slope, there was many other to choose from and every mistake could be fixed with rewind (kind of like Forza games).

GMA has a "behind" camera view that you can switch to so you can always see where you're going. Well, the Steam version has that - I don't know about other versions.

Maybe they added later, back when I played it, only mobile version had camera behind, but it didn't help much because the RNG was still horrible.
