Got stuck

I'm at the hospital. The health of the two characters is extremely low, with no medkits, and not enough ammo to take those flying things with that giant monster in some room.
What should I do?
I don't remember this game being this hard on Normal Mode when I played it back in 2008

You can run for the exit (don't forget to take the keycard near the exit door), and there should be a medkit in that same room.
Have you tried breaking the boxes you find around the maps? They drop medkits and ammo if you're running low. The game usually makes sure you have some ammo and a few medkits.

What if youre after the point of the transformation cutscene then what do you do? All four characters are low health, because this game has the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ healing system I’ve ever seen (even for older games). The second i step into a certain required room, im guaranteed to lose because enemies shrug off shotgun shots, and i can only taze one other.
