Sum 41 Gone?
It has been an extremely long time since I played the original Obscure, but one thing I'm positive I remember is Sum 41 - Still Waiting playing in the opening cinematic. Now it has been replaced by some other track I've never heard, this isn't game breaking obviously I just thought it was weird. Think it was removed due to copyright or something?

So far the port is fantastic even with the black bars at the side of the screen. They don't bother me that much, I'm using a controller and everything works great, I honestly doubt I'll even attempt to use a keyboard for this game. But yeah, Sum 41 was playing in the intro, right? Or am I just imagining things...

It's not there. Was it removed for any reason? Never saw it to begin with in the preceding months either besides in the comments section here. Sounds like WAAAYYY too much trouble to be bothered with honestly, i just paused the game mid cutscene and spent 20 minutes looking for the original unaltered PS2 intro on Youtube, watched it, came back to the game and just skipped it on here. I'm dreading trying to find the unaltered credits on Youtube to watch when I beat this game (before I check out the music videos on Youtube).

it's still there, it is not removed, go the 2nd page of the General topics forum and at the bottom, you will find my post called Restore the original intro and music....

Here is the link : https://steamcommunity.com/app/254460/discussions/0/3061870106238659805/

I got 2 comments 2-3 days after my post that it worked for them.

I looked for it under guides, I'd actually read over this already looking for an amicable solution to fixing this busted version; seems there really is no easy way other than actually having a 2 or 3 hundred dollar copy for consoles (negating my being here to begin with)...or using Youtube to the rescue. I took the latter route out of necessity/ease of use. Thanks for putting the guide out for the community anyway.
Thing is, back in the early 2000's and before, no one was expecting they would be re-releasing old games, etc. Many game companies only got the rights to use some music for the original release of the game. So, subsequent releases in the future, they may have to remove music they just didn't think about getting the rights to use later.
I don't know if that is the case for this specific game and the Sum 41 song, but it is a very COMMON thing with old games.
Companies just didn't expect the industry to go where it has back then. These guys rarely expected to do more than "One and Done" in those days. And never really thought about long term contracts when it came to music and other things.
This has begun happening with voice acting in old games as well. That is why some companies have to re-record dialogue before re-releasing, or doing an HD remaster, etc.
(Infamous instance like this happened with the Silent Hill HD Collection.)

Wow that was quick. Thanks bro. The perfectionist in me is wondering if that 3rd song is necessary for coming back on here. It wasn't supposed to be there to begin with to be fair, I could look it up too. Never bothered finishing it on here by the way, not worth it (to me) in it's Silent Hill "HD" glory. Maybe trying the emulation scene again and playing with computers isn't so bad after all.... we'll see if my old school console ass can manage with not having hundreds to drop on an original true unbastardized hard copy of it.

There was a 2nd Span song that wasn’t supposed to be there;music video and end credits song were mixed up and labelled wrong. 1 Sum 41 song and 2 Span songs. Again, one of the Span songs wasn’t supposed to be there (probably wasn’t licenced) in the first place… should it be canonical/official for any later releases? I’d understand that ONE track for that very specific but odd reason but that’s it.

so if im understanding the soundtrack was on the CD hidden away but not known of
or atleast not meant to be there? not first time ive heard of developers leaving stuff in the games or on the discs as hidden suprises that are rarely found.

There was baby come back in the credits; the actual music video in the bonus menu was labelled baby come back but was don’t think the way they do. The multiple PAL releases each had songs of their own on top of so many other differences and the steam version ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and being some Frankensteined version of it’s own ( still mostly based on the very first “unfinished/unpolished”release).
