Why is there no 16:9 widescreen support?

I guess everyone who bought the game on steam has the problem, that obscure 1 and 2 does not support 16:9. Fun fact: the retail cd version does support 16:9.... what a shame 4:3 in 2018.
Why the devs dont patch it?

It also calculates the FOV based on the resolution and aspect ratio you're going to use (automatically) and adds multi-monitor support if you're using Surround/Eyefinity.

just bought the game a month back, my solution was simple, I just mess with the screen zoom settings on my 1080p screen, it's not perfect, but it fixes my issue and still looks like I rememebr it....

You're welcome! I decided that his game needed some more love so I got some help from killer-m who made the patch literally 2 days ago for the retail and GOG version, and the Steam one yesterday. :)

Say is there a patch also for Obscure 2 ?
Videos are in 16:9 in obscure 2 but the game self is obly in 4:3 ratio. I did try this pach also on obscure 2 but the game is not starting :-/

Not at the moment. I'll ask killer-m if he can make a patch for ObsCure II as well and create a dedicated page on WSGF. I'll get back to you when I have news. :)

Awesome Thank you! please excuse my lack of knowledge but, is it possible to put the original music back in the game, specifically the sum 41 track?

I honestly have no idea. Maybe you can literally swap the files from the GOG version and see if that works.

The game has been removed from GOG anyway. You can download the GOG version "somwhere else", if you know what I mean (for lack of a better option).

well the steam version is in a .hvp format where as the gog is in the usual format

I wanted to ask that to him but since I don't own Obscure II I would've been unable to test it. You might want to contact him on Discord though, just join the WSGF's Discord server and ping or send a PM to killer-m.
