We do add a loss to the player who rage quits. I can't remember if the 'non quitter' gets the win. I think he does, but I'll have to check the code. I can't quite remember.
This will become apparant when we start showing people's wins and losses or Win/loss ratio. We do store that information, we just aren't showing it yet.
Cheers,
Matt
I really don't get rage quitting.
I was having a really good well matched game of straight pool with someone and they happened to play 3 consecutive fouls. This is a 15pt penalty.
I've since checked and it is a real rule but I was surprised at the time (I don't play much straight) and they also didn't know the rule. We were both confused.
I played my turn and I was just typing in the chat that I'd be happy to play to the score that would have won it for them without the penalty (I was losing) and they rage quit before I could hit send. Which was a shame because I was enjoying the match.
I play because I enjoy playing. I don't see why people get so angry if they lose, just because they were bettered, or even undeservedly because of flukes. It's a game: That's how it works.
And as for the the guy who accused me of cheating and hurled abuse at me all the way through a 3 frame match without quiting till it had finished:
a) If I was cheating I'd cheat better than that
b) I hope I or my family don't die in a fire tbh
c) You were actually quite entertaining...
d) ...But I think you might need some sort of psychological assessment :-D
So whos got the best win lose ratio???
I bet its Merch.

Someone should make a thread dedicated to abuse, we can see which is the best.
+1 for "HAHAHAHA IDIOT TAKE THAT" - Hilarious.
...Still quite funny though.
They are basically like children trying to get attention, so the most fun is to be had by ignoring them and just watching them get more and more worked up.
Just add the odd GG or nice shot to make it totally clear it's not getting through, then stand back and watch the show :-)
Definitely - it's a sad fact but any multiplayer game must penalize disconnects. The game should also include a disconnect ratio and/or rating to show how often they DC.
It's not that easy. Sometimes you just don't want to continue playing with someone who verbally abuses, spams, and so on, and so you leave with perfectly sensiblle reasons. It is not that simple.People could abuse that system to get wins by forcing people to quit.
RQing is as old as online gaming, and not easy to solve. Valve monitors players who continually quit in game (and do other unpleasant things) and with their matchmaking matches them to play with each other, but of course that only works with games that have a high player count.
I do agree with the developer, ♥♥♥♥ happens. Storms, ISP on the fritz, your GF reminds you were 10minutes late to a dinner and your not dressed, ETC. If an act of the universe occurs, honestly in my hearts of hearts since there is no real ref. you actually have to eat the loss. My reasoning for this is the other person still invested their time.
EDIT: Logic would dictate the person in the lead should get the win, just like in any other sport.
So like parking spaces, it's nice that you shoveled that out, thank you, but parking spaces are public domain, so no holdsies.
