Co-Op Campaign - Guest not saving anything
Hello everybody!

We started a new campaign in Co-Op, but every time we load the game the guest has to start over: ship improvements and inventory do not get saved.
It's really disappointing! We bought the game to play together through the campaign but it's not possible in this way.
Please fix it!
Thanks.

So, the players' credits, ship upgrades, weapons should all be saved, and if a player skips a part of the game, he will also get any crucial items he might have missed.

When a game is rejoined, the story progress is shared with the Host, the joining player will be in the same area as the Host.

Savefiles can also be copied from other players, but in that case, the joining player will take over the host's ship setup.

If anything is behaving differently, that's most likely a bug.

Hey Alienware.

No, only the host saves progress at this point in time, we will see if any changes will be made to the system but for now, only the host saves progress.

Saving the progress for the client is a MUST!

This must be patched asap.

and you have a solutioin for that?
if you join a coop game that has more progress in the game, do you want to ruin your singleplayer progress with that? and there are many more problems with async progress.
bigger games have this problem, too (generation zero, wolfenstein: youngblood)
it is easy to say: "fix this" but if you think about it. there is no easy solution

Hi Zyddie.

Thanks for your reply. I've got it, but you do please understand that in the Co-Op Campaign the guest progresses have to be saved too.
We've bought the game to play in Co-Op Mode, and so we hope you will be patched this issue.
Thanks!

I agree. We hope a patch will be released in order to save the guest progresses too!
Bye!

Guest saves aren't absolutely necessary, just make them always have the same unlocks as the host. That would be enough.

What's easier than dumping the gamestate into a save file that the player can eventually even name and that shows progress? It was done like this since decades.

There's so many options including but not limited to marking it as a co-op save game, giving the player the choice to save etc.

Of course most proper co-op titles these days support progress based saving due to the underlying game design - like chapter based, character progression based etc.
In the case of Aquanox save games would make most sense though.

WTF? In Youngblood I had 2 savegames, I for SP and one for Coop. When we played together everything (progress, char) was saved for me and the char was saved for my friend. That's all and it worked perfect.

Yeah! I perfectly agree: unlocks and inventory.
In this way we could walk through the campaign together giving a meaning to the Co-Op mode.

A friend and I literally only got this game for the coop campaign. Imagine our surprise when we saved after a long session, only for him to join the next day to pick up where we left off to find all of his weapons and inventory missing.

Neither of us particularly want to do this game solo and we've done more than two hours each so no refunds for a game that can't get the coop working like pretty much any other coop campaign game we've played.

Figure it out.

I perfectly understand your disappointment: the same for us!
Indeed, we stopped playing this game until they fix it.

There are systems in place for saving the inventory of Clients, as long as an autosave happens while that Client is in the session.

Hi! I am the one playing the co-op mode with AlienwareAR, and after reading this last reply, we tried again, starting from the beginning once more. Turns out that it is exactly the same as before. Once we close the game and return to desktop the guest save disappears (unlocks and inventory). It remains if we just go back to main menu and then load the game again, but obviously we have to close it at some point. Plus, we can't really save, it's just autosaves, and they aren't very frequent... You have to complete a whole mission to get one. Therefore this game remains impossible to play in co-op mode for us. We will wait for a fix from the developers, for now we remain extremely disappointed, we really hope it will get better as we have enjoyed it so far!
Thanks!

Has this been fixed yet? Seems like a huge oversight
