Simple mods will show, sure, hardmod uncensor, maybe some simple plugins, but you'll be waiting a while if you want wideslider/sliderunlocker etc.
Plugins that targets the engine, unity, should work quite well, but most plugins will target the game code, which is where things start to fall apart.
So modding future is not so grim anymore it seems
The problem here is that the mods for RoomGirl is not really carryable further either, and that's before taking note that it's highly experimental and buggy for RoomGirl in the first place, and not all zipmods even work for that.
HoneyCome starts with blank sheets, it needs to be mapped out from 0, same as RoomGirl, and that will take time, at the very least, or may never happen, who knows. Proper tooling for IL2CPP is not really a thing. Some things were learned during RoomGirl, but hardly enough to really help HoneyCome.
HoneyCome has a better chance than RoomGirl did though, taken how stubborn the Anime modders are, so they may actually fully decompile the game eventually and get proper modding going, but no guarantee that anyone want to spend months mapping out and fully decompiling the game to allow for the kind of mods we're used to with Koikatsu.
Simple mods, like a basic uncensor will probably drop quickly though, as that is not really affected by the IL2CPP thing
i hope this site answer ur question about story mode,
