There's only a handful of AO games that actually offer a decent selection of content. Too much focus on making money, and not enough on filling the world of the games that are made, and I don't limit this to Illgames and former illusion games, but the general amount of AO games. Either it's an entire novels worth of dialogs and some eventual non or minimally-interactive scenes, or a sim with no sustenance.
Very frustrating imo.
Koikatu is decent one though, because it goes beyond being a simple character creator and sex simulator, with various elements like dating, studying together, eating lunch together, working out together, sleeping together, etc; same for AI Shoujo with it's life sim elements like cooking, fishing, etc.
Honey Select 2 falls into the usual issue, i.e character creator and sex sim with nothing else going on, and of course, the same goes for HoneyCome which is basically just a reskin of Honey Select 2.
I guess that it is what it is, but I do hope that Illgames will eventually make at least one game with more going on than a creator and sex simulator. Just one game would be good enough for me, but that's ultimately up to them.
personally i want story. Together BnB has visuals and story but only 2 characters that have R18 Scenes. Custom Maid games have story but you will need to purchase those dlcs and there is a ton of dlc.
most of the games adult games i play are not on steam. some of them are coming like "Long Story Short" and "Fate and Life: The Mystery of Vaulinhorn". you can wishlist them now. both have blackmailing, and optional ntr
Even the guy right above me mentions WIld Life but anyone that's played it knows that the customization is very very basic. You can pick any of the girls in that game and the only thing you can customize is hair/hair color, eyes, and some very basic boob butt slides. That's a wrap. If you don't like her body shape, you can't change it. If you think her face looks off, you can't change it. If you think she's too tall, you can't change it. If you think her voice actor sucks, you can't change it.
I'm still not sure why Illusion rebranded to ILL Games but even though they have some misses in their past they still have made really really good games that have far more content than any other adult game devs. Their franchises like Artificial Girl, the "Play" series, and Sexy Beach were all way ahead of their time.
Are most of their games essentially just "Custom Sex Slave Trainer #57"? Yes. And that's still better than 95% of the rest of the adult market. Look at the release date from something as old as the original Artificial Girl and ask yourself "What other 3d adult games were being released at that time?" They are/were the only veterans in the field. Fullstop.
nah man , check out virtuamate , it has way better customization than any of illusions games
And way more ugly models than even in in Honey Select 1.
Most of vam models look very uncanny.
Meanwhile, 7 years old illusion game:

This game has a serious lack of anything to actually do in it, which is kinda infuriating when they're asking a AAA price of entry, so don't really see a problem with OPs post here.
Koikatsu often get the "wide as the ocean, shallow as a puddle", and that has never rung as true as it does in this one. While the Character Customisation suite is as strong as ever, everything else is at a bare minimum, barely counting as present. The sex scenes are dull and uninspired, as usual tbh, nor is there really a personality to the game or its characters.
If this truly was a new studio, and the game weren't filled to the brim with illusion assets and code, I would pat them on the back for a good try, and ask them to maybe put some heart into it next time, but... it is not.
The AAA pricetag makes this way worse than other, more reasonably priced, adult games.
Show yourself to be humble, and implement some signs that the game weren't designed by committee, and a lot can be brushed aside. This game has no soul, it's a dull, uninspired mess, sold at a AAA pricepoint. With said pricepoint comes expectations, expectations not met.
oh dude no ur looking at the wrong models then. if you go get professionally done models on patreon you can get the exact copy of chun li from the new street fighter, she is identical to the game down to every last detail. you can get the entire cast of street fighter, overwatch, etc and they all are spot on. virtuamate has a huge community that makes every position, scene, scenerio imaginable. you are missing out
i also have Mai that looks 10x better than that on virtuamate. trust me virtuamate puts honey select to shame there is no comparison there, idk what kind of pc you have but you can really get crazy with the graphics too
RoomGirl has a (very limited) dating system, where you can flirt, go to love hotels or BDSM ones, restaurant, cafe, and so on, still wouldn't recommend that game since overall it is even more limited than Koikatsu.
Artifical Academy 2 has a ton of stuff that Koikatsu has plus a more indepth relationship system, but pregnancies there are "Game Overs" and it has some NTR content, so it's not really my thing. Still the most expansive of the Illusion games.
