Ninja Gaiden hasn't been the same since NG2 on 360.............
They got rid of Tomonobu Itagaki

Also, they ♥♥♥♥ all over Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden for being to sexist and violent (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crap honestly)

Nioh was kinda the spirtual spinoff of the Nina Gaiden 3d games.

They also just released a Ps5 exclusive 'Way of the Ronin' (i might be wrong about title) but Ghost of Tusomething took the mass marketing money.

But the game isn't even out yet, give it a chance atleast.

Na Ragebound looks good so far. Pixel Art is gorgeous. I just hope it is a linear Action Platformer in the vein of Cyber Shadow and not a Metroidvania.

And what should "dead game" mean anyway? This is a singleplayer game, I don't care if it is a huge success when I have fun with it.

Ninja Gaiden, where are we playing not for Ryu Hayabusa, but for some kind of red-haired bastard? Oh my God, take this ♥♥♥♥ away and don't you dare shove your micro-pauses in games like this. It's old-school and hardcore. What are the pauses during attacks? Are you out of your mind? From the creators of Blasphemous... This is not KT. This is not Ninja Gaiden. It's a pity, but the last decent game in this series is NGB.

This thread is truly...

... ragebound.

Thanks folks I'm here all night.
Game series calls back to its Arcade/NES 2D action roots with a fun little sidegame while the main team works on the next proper entry for the anniversary.
players: shock and confusion, for some reason

Looks pretty damn close to the OG Ryu Hayabusa to me. Even if they are giving the player character another name, it's far more accurate to Masato Kato work than later Kenichiro Nakajo version with the weird large metal headband.

As much as I enjoyed the gameplay of the Itagaki NGs, I'm stoked to see a return to the original Sakurazaki style of the series. For decades i've wanted to see a fourth game follow up to the NES trilogy, hopefully in story but at least somewhat in gameplay.

As an NG fan for 25 years now, I'm stoked the direction this game is bringing to the series. This is the series's proper entry I've been wishing for.
i always wanted a new 2D ninja gaiden since we only got remakes of the nes games back in the day. i'm excited to play this, it looks like if snes got a proper ninja gaiden game

What remakes? There’s the PCE and Lynx ports and the NGT collection on the SNES, but I’m not aware of any remakes. I’d love to be ill informed on this though.
what you call a port i call a remake because they're made from the ground up. i would say the snes trilogy would be a port though. the amiga has a really bad version of 2 but the graphic style is close to 16 bit. thats about it
"This is a bad direction" Nah, you're nuts. 2D Ninja Gaiden was fire.

"I have never seen a company fell off so hard". Ha, ever hear of Borderlands? take your Never Seen somewhere else.

Will see your negative/refunded review on opening.

you are blinded by nostalgia, ninja gaiden peaked on ninja gaiden black
Spoken like someone angry they can't beat Ninja Gaiden NES in a single playthrough.

i never played it, it looks bad and tbh ninja gaiden black was the cusp of the franchise, i dont understand the point of going back to the "origins" its just a cheap nostalgia move

the ninja gaiden games on nes are some of the best platformers you can play from the era. they're iconic games and the retro community will be happy a new game exists. especially from a developer that has made good platformers already

i feel like these kind of old games have more limitations, i dont think they have this touch ninja gaiden black managed to get when it came out
