Just in case you’ve never heard of this bountiful pirate experience before, Trident’s Tale is a single-player adventure set in a vibrant and colourful magic-infused world, starring aspiring pirate Ocean and she embarks on an epic journey to discover riches and fortune.

In the 15-hour single-player campaign players will be able to explore a massive open world full of islands inspired by the Carribean, meet and recruit a wide array of eccentric characters to their crew and take part in compelling combat on both land and sea.

It’s almost release time for Trident’s Tale — the game sets sail in just a few weeks! While we wait to embark on an epic pirate adventure filled with magic, sea monsters, and mysterious dungeons, let’s take a moment to meet Frank — probably the loveliest skeleton on Hoctal, and someone you’ll encounter in the main story.

Frank is a naïve skeleton from Captain Cornelia Faust’s crew. The others have always targeted him for his gullible nature, playing endless pranks on him. The latest one? They left him behind on a deserted island. Now, Frank’s looking for new companions who’ll embrace his weirdness and clumsy charm.


When Ocean meets Frank, she learns a new skill called Skeletric, which summons skeletal arms from the darkness to deal damage and apply Shock.

A powerful shaman with rare knowledge of sea legends, Aleq comes from a distant land. Word has reached her that someone is searching for the pieces of the Trident, and she intends to keep a close eye on the situation.

Her magical abilities and wisdom will be invaluable to Ocean as she navigates Hoctal’s secrets.


Anathema is a powerful spell that damages enemies and curses them. Cursed enemies take increased damage from Ocean’s attacks and cannon fire.

Welcome back, pirates, for a new character spotlight! This time, you'll meet the game's main narrator. Whenever there's a flashback, an important story to tell, or even a thrilling new trailer, it's Pedro Cicada's time to shine!

Pedro is a bard, violin player, grog enthusiast, and master imitator. Or, as some might say, he's basically the best of Hoctal. He joins the crew early on in the game, while helping Ocean to solve a riddle involving an ancient ballad.


Pedro teaches Ocean party time, an ancestral melody that heals you, damages nearby foes, and can inflict Drunk.

Heya, Pirates! Trident's Tale is rich in characters, each with their own personality and backstory.

Over the next few weeks, you'll get to meet some of them. Let's start with Ocean Held, the playable character we hope you'll love stepping into the shoes of.

Ocean is an enterprising and irreverent young scoundrel. Her adventure begins on her 19th birthday when a dramatic event changes her life forever. Becoming a pirate isn't just a dream—it's a necessity.

She's an orphan who grew up on a pirate ship. The Captain and her crew are the only family she has ever known. Throughout her journey, she will uncover the truth about her past and what really happened to her family.

BRINGING OCEAN TO LIFE

During the early concept phase, we iterated a lot on her design. We wanted to create a character that anyone could love. Her kit, hair, and outfit changed over time until we reached the final result you see today.

One thing stayed the same: her name! She was called Ocean from the very beginning of the project.

CROSS BLADES AND FIRE PISTOLS

In the first minutes of the game, Ocean unlocks her first pirate sword and gun. As you progress, you'll be able to craft new equipment and upgrade your existing gear.

Being a pirate isn't just about looking incredibly good—it's also about stats! Each pistol and sword has its own strengths and can be swapped depending on the enemy you're facing.

OCEAN HAS MORE TRICKS UP HER SLEEVES

Hoctal is filled with Divinorum, a magical energy that grants access to powerful skills. Along the way, Ocean will meet allies who will help her harness Divinorum to unlock her magical abilities.
