Watkins Glen impossible
Simply not possible with stupid AI that doesn't know you exist on track. Turn 1 hard right hander....impossible for AI 2 wide. They run into you, each other and the walls.

S's after the long back straight. Impossible. As you downshift and slow to be at the right cornering speed you get bumped from behind and ran over by superhuman AI that can brake in 50ft and somehow magically make the turn without upsetting the car.

They better fix this crap with the new company or this series is toast.

Avid NASCAR fan and been to several races and NONE, repeat, NONE of the drivers drive like they do in this game. If they did the field would be eliminated in 4 laps and half the teams would be bankrupt from wrecked cars.

There is more rubbin in NASCAR then other series but this is ridiculous. Note to new devs. NASCAR is NOT a demolition derby.

No trouble with AI here, none at all. My advice is to learn to race with them. Stay out of their way in the sections that they are a bit crazy. I can run whole race without being wrecked. No problem at all. Any track. They are VERY predictable.
Of course they dont drive like this at a real race. Settle down Beavis. LOL They dont use a mouse in their car either, or a TV monitor, plastic racing wheel, computer chair, keyboard, LOL, you get it. Dont compar this to real racing. If you have to, remember how little this costs compared to real racing, even local dirt tracks.

Seriously, just learn how to stay out of their way. Set their % down a bit until you avoid them. Its easy to pass outside the racing line if they are set low.
One startegy I use is to give up alot of spots, if I qualify at the front, to get back to an open slot. Fall in, Then pick them off one by one and make your way to the front.
In this game, they start out really tough, then settle down and string out. Thats when I start making a move.
If you can get behind one and follow him, you'll see where his line is. Also do that in a practive session.
There are 3 lines (at least, that I know of). The racing line if no cars affect them, then a passing line on each side of that line. Try following and sticking your car just off their corner and see which line they default take. It like taking the air off their spoiler. They have a "panic" setting if you will, and they will move. If they keep slamming you, they are set to high.
I used to edit the AI back in Nascar2. Learned quite a bit. The game hasnt changed much, except that the devs took away all the editing possibilities. Some of the Papyrus devs are working on the new game.
Back then, after some good editing, you could hardly tell an AI from a human. We used to run 43 fields and have humans bump the AI spot for spot. Made for awesome racing in MP.

I've done complete season in 2013 and almost done in 2014. Purchased 2015 to use next year. I stay a bit behind because it comes out on sale for $5.00. Remember, its just a game, not a sim.
Again, patience and a bit of knowledge how they work, you'll start enjoying it more. AI arnt perfect and I admit that, but they are workable.
I sent in a request to the new devs to give us the ability to edit them. They wouldnt have to spend dev time on them, let the community do that. They said the suggestion would be passed on over to the "team". Cross your fingers.

Problem with setting the AI % down is it fixes their aggressiveness but also seriously affects their speed. You will notice the AI not driving flat out on lower percentages. If only they could tone the AI agressiveness down while also maintaining their speed then the game would be fine.

I've done everything I can and as a long time NASCAR and racing fan (everything from F1 to Friday night dirt track, etc) I cannot fathom why the AI behaves so ridiculous in this game. It completely ruins any immersion the graphics and physics have to offer. As I've said the game feels like NASCAR, looks like NASCAR but it isn't NASCAR because the AI belongs in a derby not a race.
