Open beta testing of updates for Linux.
Beta version is only for Ubuntu 21.04 and higher, since new versions of packages are required and outdated distributions are not supported.

Instruction:
1. Go to the library with games and choose the game KnightShift.
2. Right-click on the context menu and select the "Properties" menu.
3. Go to the "BETAS" tab and enter the beta test password.
4. On the same tab, select the desired branch.
5. Wait for the update and play.

Branch: linuxbeta
Password: KnightShiftLinuxBeta

Greetings,
I'm working on a generalized update for the Earth-engine based games of the company. Perhaps we could converse at some point to consult about the requirements to make it work on Ubuntu. I sent you a friend request.
kindly regards
Skeltek

Thanks for putting effort into this :)
I am still on an older ubuntu (linux mint) version, but RunConfig and RunGame that steam appears to try to launch seem to be missing in the (currently public?) version. which doesn't seem like something that's related to the distribution. If it somehow is, you can disregard this post :)

Try restarting Steam and checking the game files.

Nope, still getting the steam error:
An error occurred while updating KnightShift (missing executable):
/pathtogame/RunGame

(Or RunConfig when trying to run the configuration utility)
Manually checking the location these files don't seem to be there (so it's not something like a permission issue or anything like that)

This issue was caused by unconnected depots, but its were connected two days ago.

According to what I can see from steamdb.info RunGame and RunConfig appear to be unavailable in the english depot, but are available in the others. (no idea how reliable their info is though, it might be outdated, or just an issue with steam)

I myself have the English version of the game installed and I checked the depo in Steamworks: all the files are in place.

Ah well, maybe it's just a replication issue that will take some time. :)

And I just got a 336MB Update, and the files are now there (and the whole directory structure in the game folder appears to have changed) so I guess the issue was just with steam not providing the complete update with the 7 or so MB update earlier this morning.

Hey, I like to play this game, but unfortunately I have a problem with it. I have Sparky Linux. The game under prototone works fine, but I can't create any lan sessions, and it doesn't start on native version. Can the beta run on my system?

I know you are making a game under ubuntu 21.04 but ubuntu on my computer is working very badly and I really want to play this game in multiplayer mode.

I want to have at least some advice on how to create a session and join it because unfortunately on Sparky and Ubuntu 20.04 it did not work under a proton, and it did work under windows.

Thank you, now the game run on my Sparky Linux!

Hello there I still got some issues with semi-unresponsive keyboards in this game specifically involving typing which is pretty annoying. Could you help me with that?
