How's Everyone Using Overdrive?

Not really an complaint-based topic, just asking around how everyone feels about the mechanic since it got added. Overall, I like it a bit, considering it's not THAT powerful, but can be used multiple times in a race provided your machine has the Fuel stat to handle it at that point.

I generally use it in the beginning of a race to push myself ahead and try to keep front-running that way on Extreme and Beyond difficulties, and sometimes at the end if I can boost enough to make it matter.

Overall, how would you all say the mechanic stands, provided you actually use it? Lol

I like to use it when I have momentum built - for extra O2 and to make the AI rubberband so hard it dies

Honestly, I do wonder how the game's difficulty turns out if the other racers were to also be DNF'd when they drive off the stage.

Considering they do it on anything that isn't below Extreme... XD

I tried the new update and overdrive felt kinda weird and out of place. I only played few minutes so I'm not sure yet.

I thought Overdrive makes make you go stupid fast, but it tanks your fuel real hard — and the update log implies you'll get DQ'd if you run out of fuel. So I often use it as a "final sprint" to the finish line.

The dev said that Overdrive is subject to change, so I don't have a lot of expectations for it considering how early access this game is.

it accelerates you faster to your natural top speed, and increases it by a bit - more the longer it's active. it burns a lot of fuel, but knowing the track will let you know when best to use it.

Good question...how do you use overdrive? because the game was designed with controllers over keyboard, I have no idea what the keybind is
