WTF!? Update Forces 'Raven's Cry Ad' On Every Launch ...
Every time the game is launched now it opens the url to Raven's Cry ...

They're using the 253980_install.vdf script, located in the Reg folder, to trigger and open the url every time the game is run ... really f'n lame.

You can rename/delete the Reg folder(or just delete the *.vdfs located in it) to stop this bs from happening.

Ah, this explains todays update to those files. As Raven's Cry is a Topware game, maybe they're trying to take advantage of Enclave being free and advertising through it.

Technically not free through the Steam store (which makes having advertising for all users a bit odd), but DLH has been giving out free Enclave Steam keys since last year.

i dont have enclave on steam, but i get this damn ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ad!
it opens a firefox window, even when steam isn't loaded and active!
i found this thread by google searching for a solution abount this ravens cry ad.
i can't find 253980_install.vdf on my system, so i can't delete what isn't there.
how can i get rid of this damn ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ad ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!
as steam wasn't bad enough, now also ad popups even adblockers can't ban?

Do you have a Reg folder? If so, you should be able to just delete that.

as i said i don't have enclave on steam.
so i don't have a reg folder and i don't have this .vdf file anywhere on my system.

What other folders do you have in the exe's directory? On mine it was D3D, DirectX, Reg and Sbz1.

as i said i don't have enclave on steam and also not installed on my system.
so there is none of these folders because enclave doesn't exist on my harddrive.

You said you didn't have Enclave on Steam ... not that you didn't have Enclave at all, which kind of matters more than not having it on Steam. This happens when we run Enclave ... so what are you running when it happens to you? It has to be tied to something on your system ...

and thats the question, what else is causing this ad?
a firefox window with this opens without any reason.
even when steam client is NOT running!
