Enclave

Enclave

**Do this before playing TRUST ME!!**
The game runs great on its own as a directX8 title. However the games vsync does not work properly. This simple change makes the game smooth beyond belief. like WOW smooth. Please try it even if you think you dont need to. TRUST

force enable vsync and triple buffering for enclave in nvidia control panel. Right click desktop-nvidia controlpanel- manage3d application tab- add game. enclave.exe

And if you are feeling extra saucy you can drop this single dll into the install directory
https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9/releases and the game will now run in directX9.

You can convert all dx8 games to dx9 with that tiny file. its pretty dope. And it works on all dx8 games. It's not needed tho (unless you want to use reshade or something then you need it)

Also i just realized, if you visit the options menu while the game is running, you can increase a few video options that are not available from the main menu.

Example; increasing the texture quality and changing shadows from "player" to "All". You may as well also disable "sync framerate to monitor" as it doesnt work correctly (and since we already forced our own)

What about player animations being really choppy? Can I fix those? Looks tied to mouse controls but maybe it's fixable?

Hmm, i think the animations look smooth. Does your game look like mine does? I just recorded a short vid

Nope ill get a video for you later playing Genshin with some friends rn.
Maybe I missed doing some stuff?
But player animations are very choppy.

My God, thank you.

Not particularily for the smoothness fix, rather the DX9 file fixed a really bad issue that I had with the game.
As I use ultrawide, I could play it as such from a fresh install. The very moment I would restart the game however, it completely breaks. It goes to windowed and it locks out the 21:9 resolution, nothing but a reinstall would help. But the file worked, it now runs wonderfully and has none of the aforementioned trifles.

Thank you kindly.

really? sweet lol. no prob. Weird i just saw this new post because i have enclave minimized right now and im at like level 5 or 6 now (i unlocked a cool survival map and im using a druid and this game is sooo cool)

p.s drop that file into any directX8 game and it will turn it to dx9 no problem. So hold onto it or google "corsire d3d8 to 9" should you need to redownload it

also, if you like this, i highly HIGHLY reccomend you try out gothic2 DX11. Then download L'hivers vegetation (world only not the whole mod) and it becomes GORGEOUS and runs at like 300fps no problem. One of the best dx11 conversions ive ever experienced

And i forgot to mention, the file that makes dx8 games run at dx9 also makes reshade and sweetFX work on them too

I had the same issue. I thought it was because of huge fps (I have 1k+ fps), but looks like I was wrong. What I did is when in game, I opened settings and set max value for sensetivity. When I closed settings, my sensetivity didnt change at all, but those choppy animations gone.
I hope it was understandable.

Yes, it's because your mouse had polling rate higher than 125Hz - makes character movements too quick when turning camera around.
Solution - as far as i was able to find - limit polling rate to 125Hz, there should be bunch of online services to test your current polling rate, as for limiting it? - i don't know about any general software that does it as software for my mouse has this functionality(Logitech G Hub).

it does? does it run tho? i've never had any issues with that simple .dll it can convert any dx8 game to dx9

its made by one guy so maybe its not compatible with anything below windows10? who knows. You can also try the d3d8 to 9 converter made by the reshade guy

you dont need to run the game in dx9, i just think its cool to be able to. Performance is better too

but i have a gtx1080 + i7 so my pc is pretty beastly.

as far as the mouse issue i just have a regular logitech mouse that i never installed the logitech software for
Hey guys, do anyone else have serious issues with hitboxes? Melee is hard but ranged weapons are almost unusable - i literally tired of seeing projectiles passing through enemies without any damage. Also, i dont remember this game being so hard to play. I played it in 2004 and im pretty sure if it was so hard back then i will not be able to finish it multiple times, also i replayed it in 2013 and i remember it as flawless experience in general, but for some reason now i have weird issues with enemy hitboxes and hit detection in general(not to mention rare crashes that i never saw in disc or "Carribbean" versions).
Tried to lock fps, different settings etc - nothing worked so far
RandalMcdaniel Mar 2, 2021 @ 1:58pm
when using ranged you have to make sure the crosshair turns red before you click fire or else it will be a guaranteed miss
Well, that is obvious but problem is that looks like enemies have their head hitboxes somewhere in chest area and it`s almost impossible to get clear headshot when aiming to the head - it just pass through and i get beaten, i obviously didnt had that issue back then and i clearly remember how op "overcharged" bows was and how easy it was to use.
Probably some mismatch between modern hardware and how engine works

i missed quite often as well, i think i ended up just aiming for their stomachs
Well, turns out it`s not about hitboxes but about weird aiming system - if your weapon have a delay before it shoots your shot will land in that place where your aiming dot was at moment of pressing mouse button(even if you did 180), quite annoying cause i feel like every single weapon have some king of delay but it`s ok`ish with crossbows and hitscan bows
