Direct X not detected. Run install program.

Hi, does anyone have any clue how to fix this error? I've tried troubleshooting,deleting the avi file,using software mode and changing the compatibility but absolutely nothing seems to work. The error tells me to run the install program but there isn't one. Really want to play this game but it just seems broken.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am too am having this issue. I was able to circumvent it enough to play (with the caveat that the characters are invisible) by going into Steam\SteamApps\common\Gorky 17\versions\alternative2 and using the .exe there.

Still, I would like a real fix for this issue also. I have attempted compatability to Win95, run as administrator, and have added this program to the exclusion list for DEP. Also software rendering is much to slow to play in.

uininstalling nvidia psyhx will help. uninstal and reboot the computer

Running it on alternative 2 still results in this error, and I'm not even using an NVidia card.

Had the same problem.Nothing work for me what u written.But changed my monitor resolution to 800x600 and is work!!!
