The only thing that has fixed the construction menu crash for me and others I have seen have this problem was to lower the game resolution in the config menu. I don't know why it works fine for some people and not for others but it was a known issue with the GoG release, which is what I have, and I suspect this is the same or similar version with the same problems. The game itself launches and runs without a problem right up until opening the construction menu and then it crashes to desktop every time. Like I said earlier, lowering my resolution to 1024x768x32 resolves this issue. It may work with other resolutions as well but that's the one I use.

My audio works fine, I only have the construction menu crash. I don't know why it affects certain resolutions and not others. I do know I have tried it at 1920x1080x32 as you have as that is my monitor's native resolution and it crashes for me. I don't have the patience to test out other resolutions to see which work and which don't but I saw 1024x768x32 suggested as working and it works for me. To be fair the game is ugly at any resolution, so functional is good enough for me.
and for the sound, i had 'Harware' shecked in the setup.exe, i changed to 'software' so it worked, so just open the settings (open the 'setup.exe' in the instalation folder) and check 'software' under 'sound' area. Hope this helps you.
Running video at 1920x1080x32 on Wins 7 64bit. No problem with editor, however the graphics look TERRIBLE. As if they were created back in 1998 or something. It is almost as if 800x680 is being stretched out into the 1920x1080 screen. Is this what everyone else sees?
My video card is a brand new GTX 760 w/ 2GB (all drivers fully up to date). Just curious.
Earth 2150 was originally released in 2000, so your 1998 isn't too far off. I don't think it was really made for wide screen resolutions, which I think is part of the reason why so many people are having problems with it, so deformation isn't really surprising.
The game in general just isn't very pretty though. Even for its time it is kind of ugly. Its charm is in its gameplay though so you kind of have to look past the graphics and see the game underneath.
Try the auto-detect of audio stuff, it worked for me. Then everything works exept the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ construction stuff
Ha! Now that makes perfect sense. LOL Yjamlks Urbound, I did not realize that this title was that old. For some reason I was thinking late 2008ish. I'll change my res to 1024x768 and hopefully that will fix the graphics issue. I am all for great gameplay even if the graffics are subpar.
Thanks!
