Can anyone tell me about this game?
I'd love to hear from people who played the classic version (if there is one) how the developers are doing and anything else you can give me.

Under DOS it was very good strategic game, with very good soundrack and I loved to play it. Few years ago there was made port to make game run under Windows. But something went wrong and AI in the game broke up. So you will build base and units, kill few units that computer send to you (probaby script) and then nothing happen. Computer dont build buildings or units. So you will go to his base and destroy him very easily. Now i am not sure if that problem was solved or not and I am curious about this version and its AI. Did anybody bought it and play it?

I'm also curious if the A.I. and sound are fixed in this version.

Also curious how this release runs on modern machines. I played the original for a good few score hours. A few years down the road however the game had issues on newer machines (on top of what Hrazda mentions the game also ran way too fast). I hope this one was refreshed properly, unlike some of Topware Interactive's other steam re-releases.

The HD Version for Win / OSX is new compiled. AI should work correct and run on todays machines. We are also working on HD Versions of other old titles like K&M.

I got this off GoG's a while ago because is was released roughly when a couple other RTS where released that I liked. The graphics were so archaic I couldn't get into it. My expectations have been spoiled by time.

it's a pity you think that Stryk, as that means you also won't try any other great RTS games of that time like starcraft, command & conquer, c&c red alert, krush kill n destroy, or even dune 2 - all of which are excellent games.

the graphics aren't even that outdated, there are indie games coming out that could be considered to look worse (like risk of rain), and it's not like it's in 16 colors or anything. though it can't be helped if you don't like it - generation differences I guess.

Yeah, it's easier for us who grew up on even worse graphics. I wouldn't say they're archaic, but the graphics have definitely aged and certainly will not be everyone's cup of tea. But if you can get past the graphics then Earth 2140 is a solid title. The campaign has some sudden difficulty spikes along the way iirc and the controls are a bit simpler than fans of modern strategies might be used to but it's still well worth playing.

And yeah, the retro fever that's going on has spawned titles that look much worse than this.

I bought this because of nostalgia. I really liked playing it when I was a kid.
The only problem I had is that I wanted to play through it on easy just to experience th game again and I was getting decimated at times. The opponent had a much bigger army than me and they tend to send to units that were attacked to see where my base was after a failed attack.
