HD Resolution?

When I start the HD version I seem to get only a small portion on the screen, no matter what resolution I select (not that I can see all of them).
I tried setting the .exe file itself to 640x480, which allows me to see the whole menu so I can choose resolutions, but none take up the full screen - rather a strip across the middle, and I still have to scroll to reach the edges.
What am I missing with the resolution setup for this game?

I think it is very easy to correct that: if you activate the deactivation of the scaling (in German: "Skalierung bei hohem DPI-Wert deaktivieren") in the compatibility settings of the earth2140.exe

Thanks, I think that has helped at least get something in the middle. Seems the smaller resolutions work better.
