Are all the Shantae games on PC?
Im thinking of buying this game. However; I'm very picky about where i buy my games. I want to have a certain series all on one platform (like i have assassin's creed all on steam). So i ask the question, are all the shantae games on PC or am i going to have to dip between consoles?

The original Shantae (GBC) is the only game not available on Steam in the series.
Dark Exsphere Feb 8, 2018 @ 8:43pm
oh alright. perfect. I'll grab it on steam and link a non steam game to Steam to launch that one straight off an emulator. Thanks bud!

Shantae (GBC) is also on 3DS on the eShop.

To be fair though, Risky's Revenge is kind-of-sort-of a remake of the original. They're not identical, but they go through similar areas and design.

Er...no. It's a sequal.

It's a sequel that retreads a lot of similar levels.

Hence why I said it's "kind-of-sort-of a remake".

if they were to port the og game from game boy that would be difficult since nintendo was the company that saw potential for the game but im glad they arent hogging the game anymore unlike bayonetta theyre hogging the game because they were the only company that would support it which i uderstand why bayo 3 wont be coming to pc anytime soon
Dark Exsphere Feb 15, 2018 @ 4:33pm
it really does suck that Bayonetta 3 isn't coming to PC. I mean it will eventually through emulation. Right now you can grab Bayonetta 1 on steam and play Bayonetta 2 on Cemu perfectly fine. Perhaps with better performance I might add if your system can handle it. I've been playing Breath of the Wild on Cemu and it, without a doubt, looks so much cleaner and prettier on PC. It really bugs me that the 120$ i spent on the switch version is inferior in almost every single way.

Think I should point out that I have Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch and PC.... paid 90.40$ CAD plus ~30$ CAD on the season pass. So yes, i supported the developer. Also, check my steam library, I own Bayonetta 1 on PC an I just "Pre-Purchased" bayonetta 1 and 2 on Nintendo Switch - should release tomorrow... or within 3 hours. Not sure if it'll be available a midnight.

I love gaming. I'll buy the game where it's possible as early as possible. But i never emulate a game I don't own. I also have bayonetta 1 and 2 on wii u(digital) but i never bothered playing it because I quickly began hating the Wii U gamepad. PC gamers aren't that bad man. Emulating games isn't such a bad thing. righ now xbox one is emulating xbox 360 and xbox original titles. only difference is they are "selling" these games. same with the nintendo nes/snes consoles. they are simply emulating the games as well. again, only difference is, they are charging you for it.

also, the first line i wrote in this discussion thread was "I'm thinking of buying this game" followed by asking if the entire franchise is on here or not. I was later told that the first game is sort of "remade" as Risky's Revenge. So probably not going to emualte a GBC game.

well i stil dislike emulating old games sometimes but if theyre really hard to buy ill emulate them i even emulate some games i own mostly mario kart but since nintendois constantly dmcaing alot of rom sites its getting harder to find their games. and the xbox one is totally different thing if u want to play 360 or original xbox games u gotta have the disc in order to play them i also like the xbox one more because it has bacwards compatibility unlike playstation where they refuse to even allow ps3 and ps2 emulation if the xbox one can emulate the games so can the ps4.

I think sony is in a bit of a pickle when it comes to allowing BC for Playstation 3 games. Reason being the cell processor they used for that system was so F***** that it's hard to make it bc. remember PS3 had an actual ps2 inside it to allow BC. then later they did software BC and eventually phased out BC in the latest models of PS3's claiming no one wants those old games. I personally dislike PlayStation Now because despite having good above recommended internet, it still stutters and lags. It's possible that they can, overtime, come up with a method to emulate it on PS4 but i highly doubt they would because playstation now is what they are leaning towards. I like xbox ones Game Pass. It works flawlessly. I think Sony theoretically CAN emulate ps3 games and then do PS Now exactly like game pass and make it happen. I'd be soooo down. Never purchase a game. Just rent them digitally. Get all the trophies and be done with it. I wish steam would do this too lol. Renting digitally would be awesome imo. Anyways, emulation isn't that bad. Keeps things old alive. I can't go back to playing a ps2 game the way it looks. on an emulator though it looks like a high resolution port. BTW Nintendo DS, to me, always looked way too damn ugly. the DS emulator fixes the horrendous resolution/pixelation of that system.

i also have a hatred for ps now id rather play ps3 games locally like how the xbox game pass does i hate having to have high speed internet which isnt easy to get in america in most areas i live out in the counrty side and we hardly have decent internet. I also hate how sony doesnt think that one of their fans want old ps2 ps3 and ps one games on the ame system hello sony just take a look at the xbox one it plays all 3 generations and people are starting to get the older playstation consoles because they wanna play the older games they cant stand the fact that sony wont put backwards compatibility on the ps4 which id love to see them slightly up the resolution cause when i emulate wii aand gamecube games on my dolphin emulater i just up the resolution and it looks smoother.

lol yeah. sony's got good exclusives and they are strongly pushing towards "new" games instead of keeping the old ones alive. Sony has a huge library thats just instantly lost because of this. Although I think if you have the old fat 60gb PS3, a PS4 and a vita you can theoretically have almost every playstation game in existance. regardless I like everything in one place. which is what really attracted me to PC. Want to play Prince of Persia the Sands of time? no problem. Ubisoft gave it for free on Uplay not too long ago. plus i could just buy it. otherwise i'd have to find and buy the gamecube version. buy a gamecube. find and buy a tv that takes standard audio video cables (gamecube didn't have HDMI. neither did PS2.. i don't know what xbox original took). This is why I love PC. and thats why i wanted to start playing shantae but on a platform that could have all of the games there. One of the things that pissed me off was that Kingdom Hearts series, was divided across Playstation 2, Playstation Portable and Nintendo DS. If you play kingdom hearts 1. then go start kingdom hearts 2 - you'll be like wtf? why am i waking up in a flower??!!! and Jimminy Cricket will be like let me check my journal. and theres nothing in his journal except to thank someone. So i Missed out on the DS kingdom hearts game that leads into Kingdom hearts 2 because of the game being on mutliple platforms. I know now you could buy the entire franchise on ps4 but still. Anyways lol i find it funny you said "u pc gamers do nothing but pirate console games to ur computer u dont want to support the nintendo switch" yet you emulate stuff yourself! the biggest draw for emulation is that it looks wayyyy better. but yeah I don't think sony would work for a true BC because look at it this way, if Horizon Zero Dawn can sell 5+ million copies, will workign hard and making an emulator for lets say, Metal gear solid 4 for the PS4 sell that many? Definetly not. If anything people will just grab a used copy or or something (i went to sell my mgs4 game a few years ago and was offered 2$ for it) and play it that way. Sony will make nothing but dust out of that investment. I can see why xbox is doing this though. Their agenda is to move to digital only future which is more $$$ for them as well as developers (this is what the original plan for xbox one was). Plus they don't have exclusives that sell like crazy. I think Quantum Break is a unique good game, but it didn't sell like Horizon now did it? Sunset overdrive is good, but sales? Xbox gamers are more biased towards shooters and racing games. Whereas PS and Nintendo gamers are more diverse and have a broader game genre preference.

i hate pc gaming because of the constant drm crap like denuvo sceurom and such annoying drm like that i like console gaming because they make them look cool and i like owning multiple consoles and i have the space for them. also there is a way to get hdmi on gamecube u just gotta buy a ultra hdmi mod but it has to have a special port for the the device to work its a rare version of the gamecube with the component cabled u know the one with red green and blue on it and the n64 also has a ultra hdmi mod u can install on it to make ur games look great on hdtvs and same goes with the ps2 i think but ur just a pc gamer who hates consoles cause theyre too inconvenient to u i also hate digital gaming because if a digital version of a game gets removed its gone forever. i also prefer holding the game and having a way to show it off to friends in my room
Dark Exsphere Feb 17, 2018 @ 8:12am
Umm. Well I was a strict console gamer until I went far away from home for pharmacy school. Which is when I bought my first gaming laptop. And the convenience was amazing. I don't like owning one game on one platform and owning another on a completely different one. My example of kingdom hearts series I feel is good. Like I have metal gear collection package (forget how its marketed name. Legacy collection?) For PS3. I also have every good of war game on PS3. Great games. But I like having game 1 to game 5 all on the same system. This is why I asked about shantae. Wouldn't want the first 2 games on like ps2 and the rest on PS3 or something. Usually PC gamers get shafted hard lmao. Like we don't have metal gear 1 (has to be emulated) metal gear 2 and 3 (have to be emulated) 4 is currently not possible and 5 we have. We also got shafted for Bayonetta. We got the first but will not get the second and third. I think Bayonetta 1 did rather well sales wise on PC too. I played it last night on my Switch and I still think the PC version is better. Although switch has exceptionally good load times considering yooka laylee had horrific load times. I don't hate consoles man. I like them. I just don't like that when a new one comes out, the old games don't work on it. I have a PS3, PS4, PS4 Pro, Wii U, 3DS, and Nintendo Switch right now.

As for digital vs physical. I used to think the latter was better. But now I strongly think digital is better. Firstly you can back them up to discs, hard drives etc making them physical. But my main draw point aside from convenience of not having to put in a disc Everytime, was that most games nowadays have huge patches day 1. Look at kingdom come deliverance. It had a 20gb patch day 1. Final fantasy 15 had a huge patches day 1. Halo 5 also had a huge day with download. Meaning the discs are incomplete versions of the game. The only time you're getting complete edition is if you get the GOTY version. Plus all dlc and expansions are also digital (unless GOTY). Making the overall value of having the disc much much less. If I recall, if you bought the PC version of mgs5, it didn't have a disc in there. Rather a code for the steam download. That's why this generation I'm 100% digital. Steam is all digital. My PlayStation 4 has a few physical games but with all the sales I've actually bought quiet a few digital games. I also hate how the PS4 pro is loud and vibrates my desk if there's a disc in there. Ps3 is all physical unfortunately. I'd go digital but there's no way I can sell the physical games and buy them digitally again without having to add more money. Switch is all digital as well as my Wii U. 3ds is also digital. I've backed up my 3ds SD card too so if I ended up losing all my stuff I could just copy paste. I wish you could like preorder games with their action figures and a digital code instead of physical copy of the game. I think that's the only downside to digital. And the only game I've seen disappear from steam was Mafia 2. However I still managed to purchase it from a different key selling site. And it's on my steam library.
