Should I get this or pirates curse?

I've heard pirates curse was great, but I thought this might be a better game to jump into the series. (Also visuals are better)

HGH works pretty well as a standalone title if you've never played a Shantae game before. I'd say go for it!

Personally I think Pirate's Curse is better. The gameplay is better (it's a metroidvania), the story is better, the game is longer, and it's not just a bunch of stages like in HGH.

Pirates Curse has better pacing, while Half Genie Hero seems to be more Shantae like.

I would always go with Pirates Curse due to less DLCs.

PC is miles better because Risky is a far better character (character and esp. gameplay-wise).

Both are great games but I would say Pirates Curse is defintley better.

Pirates curse, though this game has much better visuals I personally much prefer pirate's curse's gameplay

Pirates Curse is generally regarded as the best of all 4 games (though only the latter 3 can be bought on steam) and Id have to agree. Even Risky Mode in this which was based on that games gameplay ended up being a far more fun to play through than the base game for me.
