Save File Restoration
Many issues in the game can be resolved by reloading from your last save.

If your save file has become corrupted, you can always try to load the backup saves. These saves are from the same campaign but are created when you come back from a run/expedition. There are up to 5 back-up save files per campaign.

You can find your saves here: C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Local\Breach\Saved\SaveGames

In that folder, you will find your save slot (for example Slot_0.sav), and see that there are multiple back-up save files, that have “_backup” in their name (for example SaveSlot_0_Backup_0.sav).

To replace the save file;
  1. Delete the normal SaveSlot_X.sav file (For example Slot_0.sav)

  2. Copy the latest backup (for example SaveSlot_0_Backup_0.sav) and paste it in the same folder.

  3. Right click and rename the new file (for example SaveSlot_0_Backup_0 - Copy.sav) to SaveSlot_0.sav.

  4. In game, you can now load the older back up save from the normal save slot in the “Load Game” menu.

Currently, Steam Cloud does not work because the Steam Cloud save file path and the actual save file path do not match. Either way, please match the save file path.

This should be fixed in the patch that just went live!
This did not work for me. I am still playing the Demo; when I last launched the game, I did not have a saved game to select, or the continue option. I changed the last backup file as directed above, and nothing happened.

I got it to work, but only after I made a new game, went on a run, abandoned it (forcing the system to create a new save file). The file name was not "slot_x,sav" but Saveslot_x.sav"
