What exactly is this genre? I m asking real people because steam is not always accurate or helpful. Did you ever play games like this before? I have deja vu but what games are like this?

It's a relatively unique game--there's nothing else in the market that is similar to it, although the game uses mechanics from a bunch of other games like Dota Autochess, Team Fight Tactics, Slay the Spire, etc.
Also the lore...first game at Rokugan
it's an auto-battler.

Most similar ones (in that they use hex grid map):

The Last Flame: probably the largest one
Legendary Creatures 2: graphics remind me of heroes 3, bun

non-hex ones:
Legend Creatures: made by same guy as LC2 I think, very buggy IE: auto sets to chinese even after you change to english when you run game again, there's a guide either on the message board or in the guides section on how to change it back.demon line of creaturs not translated at all, but there is an english guide. I still think it is a lot of fun, but unless you are obsessed with this genre like I am you might want to skip it.

Throne of Bone
Kilta
Gladiator Guild Manger
Magicbook Autobattler - published got banned from steam, but i think new version demo is out, and full version should release at end of march, one of the better, if not the best ones on the market.
Time Walker: Dark World
Despot's Game - did not like this one but it is fairly popular and has good reviews
The Dungeon Beneath - somewhat unique in that you can adjust unit positions between rounds
Astronarch

there's a couple more prominent ones that I haven't played yet, but this list should do for a while. There are also free to play ones but I'd stay away from them since they tend to be grindfests that turn into full time jobs and/or pay to win
It reminds me a lot of Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch. That game is not an autobattler but a turned based tactical game. However it is a rogue like game, where you go through the same campaign map over and over, with random battles, which gives you rewards to upgrade cards that are abilities, and gather resources between runs to upgrade stuff. That is semi true for a lot of rogue like games, but vibe wise the two feel a lot alike. Basically if you could move each character in turn based combat, it would be that game.
Best of auto-battlers for me are:
The Last Flame
Symphony of War.
For the same feeling, similar lore, Japanese factions, there's a hidden gem which I love:
Brigandine: the Legend of Runersia, a tactical turn based game.
