Crashes after starting a game, memory error
As the title: as soon as I start the game and the intro about the Crab Clan having to defend the wall ends, the game straight up locks, and I can't even close the game with alt+f4 or similar, just have to restart the pc. I managed to see that it sends an error about the video memory.

Now, my pc isn't the best, and I'm not an expert, but if I can run cyberpunk I don't think that this game should have such problems. As it is, I can't even play the demo. Don't know if it's a problem just for me or for others too

Same here. Running on lowest settings. I can no longer continue my game. It will crash every time I click continue.

Same here. Running on medium settings.
1st: Really liked what I've been able to play. Have my settings all set on low; can Run Helldivers 2, Xcom2, SWTOR no issue, but this one crashes on me repeatedly. Error message I got was:

LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\RenderCore\Private\RenderingThread.cpp] [Line: 952]
Rendering thread exception:
LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\D3D12RHI\Private\D3D12Util.cpp] [Line: 926]
Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource

(there was a bunch of code following this).

Thank you all for letting us know as this greatly helps identify bugs and issues. We're working on resolving these crashes, so please keep the reports coming, and feel free to include the type of error message you get, and how far into a run you might experience a crash!
This is so frustrating. My Gaming Laptop is limited to 8 GB RAM and this game is confirmed to be unplayable on my PC. Faced the same Memory not enough issue, hope the is some ways to optimize this game to 8 GB or Lower RAM.

There'll be an optimization package for launch that should greatly improve stability and performance for PCs with a lower amount of memory.

Experienced similar crashes on steam deck, first during the transition from starting screen to the tutorial, then bumped the graphics to medium and made it through the tutorial mission, hit the same crash at the end of the summary screen for the battle against the big goblin. In both cases screen faded to black, I could still see and move the mouse cursor but it never loaded the next screen. Had to hard-reboot the first crash, second time I could close the app through steam.

I was able to complete a few runs. This happened on the encounter after i rescued some reinforcements. Tried setting all to low and restarting both steam and PC. But the error keeps on repeating. Sometimes it returns to steam and sometimes hard-locks the PC.
