Easy to Build Fences ...
Rather than use the "Decorative Fence parts. I use the Wall tool and make it as long as I need.
Add Doors and Animal entrances where you want them, then use the Hole tool to trim the wall down to a convenient height.

You have to place the Doors, and assorted entrances before you trim the wall down however as the long hole along the top of the wall will block placement.

Makes it a lot easier to contain the Rabbits and Birds.

One trick I've seen is to create a blueprint that has, say, a building (a shepherd's cottage or a barn or similar), and then extend a road or wall "footprint" out from it, then place fence sections onto that footprint. This makes it easy to build pasture fences as a blueprint; and as an added bonus you can use the "have crafters create the needed furniture for blueprints" option in the settings menu to have them automatically build however many fences you need for each pasture.

There are some good examples of this "fence blueprint" style of building on the Workshop.

Also, when building with walls, note that you can use the arrow at the top of the wall to raise or lower its height -- much more convenient than using the hole tool to delete entire rows of wall.
