2. Once targeted they don't seem to let loose. However the only work around is to put down a defend flag for that individual, then they will do what they need and defend that area. Spotting range is 60 blocks roughly, I think. It is questionable whether a bug or not that they pursue enemies agressively even if enemies is only stationary in a certain area. Unsure on last point, but a defense flag could help to make them go to bed, as long enemy not within that defence area.
Manually jogging them around seems to give the cleric enough time to heal them and the Knight tends to regain aggro as soon as the footman is far enough away that they can't attack.
