In the early days, I kickstarted a lot of games. Starforge, Code hero, and Godus to name a few. Those others took the money and ran. This dev years later is still doing their best. Yes I'm bummed I won't get everything, but I at least see effort. I say they should be cut some slack, at the very least until the game is fully out.

Sid is an a$shole in this one. He personally doesn't like the game and uses that as a basis for critizing the devs. He obviously knows nothing about game development. Over time as you build the structure of the game, some things become impossible without destroying much of the parts before.

I can see where Sid is coming from, but I might be biased as an indie dev myself. I'm trying not to make promises to people about my Tactics RPG, but if I did and couldn't deliver after earning a huge sum of money on kickstarter, I think I'd deserve some scorn.

No, sid is not getting into SJW territory.

When he says "this is boring", you should automatically take it as his opinion. He doesn't need to say "In My Opuinion" to make it clear that he's speaking from his own point of view.

Also, if the team couldn't fulfill their promises because they went to work on other games, isn't that just as bad?! "Oh, we're sorry we couldn't finish the game you backed, we're working on THIS game now. Thanks for the money though!"

SidAlpha didn't send me. I did this on my own. Plus there is nothing wrong with what I am doing. I am not harassing anyone nor am I bringing people over here. So I do not know what you are talking about.

Don't make stretch goals that are literally counter to your own intentions as far as design and themes. I still don't understand why giving people Pirates, Ninjas and Politicians would be so bad.

This is again why I don't back kickstarters for games that I don't know the developer for. I have kickstarted Battletech by Harebrained Schemes and loved it, because I already loved their Shadowrun games.

On top of that I don't buy Early Access games generally unless I know enough about the developer to be moderately sure that I'll get the game I'm promised and it wont be abandoned at all. A few of the titles I own, Slime Rancher, Shellshock Live and a couple others.

I don't think SidAlpha puts devs on the dirty dev list lightly, I don't think he does it just to do it for content. I truly think he is of the opinion that this game was promised to be grand and amazing and fell short of that and on top of it not fulfilling the stretch goals.

Doesn't shock me that there are White Knights defending this game like people did NMS and Sea of Thieves. People defended Battlefront 2's lootboxes for goodness sake so people will defend anything. :steamfacepalm:

I find it funny that a year ago Sid did a video on starforge. A completely abadoned kickstarter. they took the money and ran and gave garbage in return. Sid wasn't angry in that video like he was in this one. I don't see that as being right. No I won't call him a SJW, but I will say he wasn't being professionally objective in this video here.

Id have to agree on this one. They did say that Riot has members from their team working on other projects. Small team, harder tasks. This one is entirely on Riot for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a game I kickstarted. And regardless of the bugs, Im still enjoying the game each time I play. (Will have to say, Northern Alliance is a petty copy/paste but it changes the gameplay. A little.

The devs are as much to blame as Riot. Stretch goals should not be haphazardly added just to justify taking in more money. To just shrug at the end with "Well, we tried to implement it several times but it never worked so oh well" is not an excuse worth forgiving. That is something that should have been communicated to us all years ago. Always held out hope for this to be a great game and actually looked forward to multiple stretch goals that are gone now.

...btw adding in more features in a couple of patches at the end makes it all seem rushed.

sometimes it is something that can't be helped. Take for example digging enemies. That would have been a nightmare to implement, and could have required them to re-code half the game. You have no idea the challenges you face at the start of development.
