The other issue known to cause the black screen is the files of the actual game downloaded wrong or became slightly corrupted, checking the games file integrity could help solve that. But this one is an old bug that's not been mentioned/happened in a small while
Well, I've tried uninstalling all of the mods, uninstalling the game, verifying the files, and it still won't work for me. Any other idea's?
Normally ACE works well and only has small hiccups that get fixed with it's next small patch within a couple of days of the problem being found but I had to mess with the files a little to get it working for myself when I first downloaded it due to me messing things up when I downloaded it first time myself haha
With this trick try only having the ACE mod only at first, once downloaded through the game, return to the main menu after giving the game a minute to fully read the folder, going back to the main menu normally shows the black screen but should be running smoothly this way since the files are coded better when the game runs while downloading (like with Garry's Mod) and to make sure to use the correct version in the workshop. There are many 'ACE Mods' on steam but many are the wrong files or old ones that don't work well, the main one is normally easy to spot but I've had someone download a old/wrong one before so I'll put a link to the correct one here in case:

Once downloaded of course, you can try running a game to just double check then afterwards try checking the 'file integrity' in the steam properties, this way you can see if this doesn't work, why it doesn't, then we can try another trick/idea
Ahh, that worked a treat! Thank you!
If you still have the black screen as well, have you tried the suggestion above? It may work for you as well
I'm glad it worked out! When modding downloading ingame is always a easy fix, even for other games, incase it ever happens again let me know, sometimes the update of the mod can cause a small crash but that has a super easy fix :)
