Comodo says the .exe is a virus!
Just got onto my PC and as everything is loading my antivirus Comodo says that the stonehearth.exe is Malware! Why would that be?

False positive

I've realized that, still very odd. They should check their code then, no reason for a games .exe to through a false positive.

might have forgot to sign the exe?

It could be any number of things. A good number of indie games on steam are initially blocked via anti virus just due to the fact they're relatively unknown, or they didn't sign things or whatever. Just assign exceptions in your antivirus, but also scan the game folders just to be sure ahead of time if you for some reason don't trust it.

Comodo ApplicUnwnt 20161106

VIPRE FraudTool.Win32.RogueSecurity (v) 20161106

Steam or developer compromized?

Well, my antivirus says everything is cool. And if you're downloading the game directly from the steam client, I don't see why there would be any issues, or fraudlent software. Only way I see that happening is a cracked game. But yeah, that sure looks like a trojan. Sure ot didn't just hide in the stonehearth folder from something else?

Steam doesn't give you viruses :P

This is from the steam downloaded version of the game, its a false positive, so the devs probably missed something with their .exe. It would be a big problem if they wore trying to do anything malicious, which is not the case.

Does your Antivirus has anything where you can set it so that you can select programs that are safe to run, Because I have AVG and there is an option where if a program is in question, I can say whether its safe or not, and then the Antivirus will remember that program to be safe to run??

Yup, I've already done that, I just wanted to post about the issue so the devs know about it.

Try verifying the integrity of your game files and then launch stonehearth again to see if it still says that
