Issue with Farming - Seeds - Plants
I am currently playing with northern alliance and made a big farm, after a while i managed to get a hold of a lot of different seeds but it seems that i can't plant those seeds(carrot,violet,wintermoss...etc...) at my farms.

Does anyone else encounter such a problem? right now i can only farm sweet potatoes, silkweed, frostnap, and pine saplings. even if i have other seeds i don't see em in the farm menu.

Without wintermoss my sheep will die and there is not wintermoss/wheat anywhere to be found.

Btw does anyone knows how to get wheat with the northern alliance??? i can't make cakes lol

"i managed to get a hold of a lot of different seeds"
You mean the seed boxes? Place them somewhere, click on them, and in their menu (bottom left) you will find a button to activated it and add the seed type to the farm menu. The box will disappear, you only need to do this once per seed type, so repeated boxes can be used as simple decorations later

Seed Boxes? what are those? no....i have simple seeds....some i made with the help of a herbalist and some i bought from traders...is it possible to unlock more plants to farm with my farmers? cause right now it seems i can only place those said seeds and just harvest em.. but i want to farm them in my farmfield

If you play in the Arctic biome it seems very rare for a trader to come to offer you a trade for their seed box, so your farmer could learn how to plant a new crop. So the farming will be very limited for them. You will definetely have to keep some Wintermoss and let your Herbalist produce seeds (x3) and grow your supply that way. When you can grow silkweed with a farmer, make a supply bin holding silkweed near your Weaver, so they will use it for crafting before they use up your Wintermoss, if you need it to make sheep food.
I did play with Northern Alliance in the Archipelago biome, and have been able to obtain some seed boxes for watermelon, and cactus plants, but still never got wheat.
Good Luck!

There are two types of seed funtionality in this game. Seed boxes are a one time use unlock that allows farmer to plant new crops. When traded they will appear by your banner and you need to click on them to activate, at that point you will always have access to that crop.

Loose seeds are not farmable crops. They have to be planted and harvested by hand individuality. Seeds bought from traders will always be these type of seeds. The seed boxes are earned by trader quests. The type where you get a pop up asking for a random number of made items, in exchange for a random number of other items, with seed boxes being a rare option.

Oh thanks guys i thought bought seeds are farmable in my fields, now i know that i need those rare seed boxes for unlocking new crops.
Guess northern alliance is not made for farming but for trapping/hunting and getting food that way...as of now i just hope a trader will pass by who will offer me seed boxes.

By the way.....archipelago biome? that's a mod?

Ops, sorry. Now I got what you are saying. Yes, those are seed items that you can manually plant as well explained above.
The archipelago is modded.
