Villagers position reset button? / Floating villagers bug
(13/06/2018)
(Sorry if there are spelling mistakes :2016butterfly:)

Dear devs (or modders),
Sometimes I get the bug that causes villagers to somehow get stuck in the air or even in unexplored mountains. To save them I have to dig them out or build quite high platforms to get them down. Could you add a simple button to the gameplay settings menu that when pressed resets the villagers position to the village campflag / campfire (temporary fix to the floating bug? or just a feature). This would be really helpfull and timesaving insted of having to save floating villagers from starvasion every 15 min.

My expreciances with the bug:
When building a +2 story tower/building and a chest is placed below on ground level the villager walks to the chest in a straight line directly to the chest in the air. Somethimes the pathing finds out that the villager is in the air and then stops making the villager unable to move. The villager then either stays floating in the air or will fall down through blocks until it stops ~20 blocks down and if I dont help the villager it will stave to death.

What helps if when the villager is stuck in the air reloading your game helps the villager get back on the ground, if it is stuck in blocks it wont do anything.

A very stopgap thing you could do if it occurs again is to select the villager, press L Ctrl + C to open the command console in-game and type "teleport". Your cursor will turn into a flag which you then left click on a piece of ground and it will instantly teleport the selected villager to the location.
I've had to use it a few times myself, so I've gotten used to doing it quickly.
A 1-click wonder button would be nice, but I doubt it will be added. They'd probably just try to fix it instead.

They get stuck everywhere. In lakes (while walking over them), walking into textures like from water to ground into ground. Heads peeking out of the ground, floating in the air, etc.

Most of them you can "build" to, press "start" and then they snap back to the map. Then you can delete the building/pillar/what ever, and they're working again.
When they get stuck so only the head is out of the ground I have to restart a new game sadly.
