Rise of Industry 2

Rise of Industry 2

Rise of Industry 1 is better
Spent some hours on the demo and I realized I the first game is more fun. This game (RoI 2) tries to be more realistic at the cost of being fun. We also lost the cool graphics of the first one. The game increased the complexity without increasing the fun aspect as well, so is like you have to go through way more hoops without getting anything out of it.

Also, someone mentioned that the game feels like it was developed by someone who was told what RoI 1 was, but never played it, and I couldnt help but feel this is very true. Is like the soul of the gameis not there. There is a clear disconnect between 1 and 2, where it feels like 2 different games of the same genre, maybe for different audiences?

I also feel that it is completely different from works in the same series, but there is nothing we can do about it since the development studio has changed.

Curious what you want from a sequel. If you look at Civilization, they do very different things with each iteration. Most people complain that sequels are just "cash ins" doing the exact same thing over and over with slightly improved graphics each time.

I was going to say the same as OP, but I just finished the demo, and for now the added complexity is enjoyable.

I had seen some people play it on youtube, and I wasn't sold on the concept, but playing it changed my mind.

It's just too bad we can't directly connect two complexes directly. let's say i have a mine and a foundry complex right next to each other, I can build mineral storage right next to each other, but I have to go through loading bay at the other side of the complex to move the minerals instead of moving them directly between the complexes.

Conveyors do precisely that. They're not in the demo, but they'll be in your industrial toolbox at release!

Thanks for the info
I prefer realism to cartoony so I am fine with that. Capitalism Plus is the best economic sim ever so anything that can make this come closer is a plus.

I feel like I shouldn't say anything but conveyors are definitely active in the demo. I have industries hooked up to them! The pop up tip does say that conveyors are NOT available in demo, however, despite them working.

🤔 We shall check it out. Thank you!

Feel exactly the same, its lost its sole.

ROI 1 had a lovely art style, easy to understand ui and it all worked you could tell what did what and how things connected, it all came together to feel like you where doing your part in a almost cosy industry game.

This is only the demo yes but its clearly to far from what ROI 1 is to change for the better in my opinion, i LOVE the detail yes as more detail in game is my fav thing, but this has SO SO SO many butons and none of them connect and they are all just scattered with a UI that makes me feel like im a 60 year old using an ipad for the first time. This really does feel like some one has taken ROI title and slapped its great name on Aldis own brand soup they are just total different games outside of being in the same genre.

I do hope it gets better ROI1 made me feel so good watching my trucks go out and make money :(

I'm the exact opposite. I really like this demo better than the first game.

Agree. This feels more liike a real Business Sim where the previous felt more like a Spreadsheet Game (ironic I know). Still, this is more like how real production chains work. I hope there is EA soon.

this shouldn't even be called ROI2 its a completely different game, and its decent don't get me wrong but nothing like the first one, i was hoping it would be like the first one with maybe a more complex bigger maps, and multiplayer, also THE UI IS BAD in this demo i hope that changes as well

Well, as luck comes you can still play number 1. Rest of us will enjoy a more realistic Business Sim.

Well. They are developed by different studios. 1st one feels very tedious with no automation. Hopefully, the 2nd would be similar to SomaSims' previous games.

The UI of this game is very bad compared to the previous game, and generally the design feels generic and cheap, it reminds me of mobile games designs.
