How long is the game?

I have about 250h per year to play games. I have this game down as 40h based on the playtime on one review, because it isn't listed on howlongtobeat. Considering the obnoxious pace of game releases lately, I think 40h is a bit steep for a game that I don't believe could become one of my favourites (my favourites generally having an emotional narrative, extreme difficulty, or a strong atmosphere, although for the lower ranks bespoke gameplay is often enough).

How long does it take to beat this game? How long does it take to beat knowing I compulsively explore every nook and cranny of a game before advancing the story (even though I enjoy games less that way)?
