How did Abby know a guy named Joel killed her dad??

That seems to be a plot hole unless I missed something from the first game. She even knows his last name "Joel Miller".

that wasn't part of the first game, but she obviously was present in the hospital with her dad in part 2 as portrayed in multiple flashback cutscenes. no plot hole at all.

Clearly someone told her about it. Im not at the very end yet, but someone must have tipped her off about it. She did find her father dead in one of the flashback scenes.

Since naught dog made it cannon that Joel killed all the fireflys and these few people were not in the hospital during the attack how would they know who joel is let alone his last name. His last name is never even said, they just knew him as the smuggler if i remember right. But it dosnt matter at this point as we all know naught dog wrote a terrible story and were more concerned with making a political statement about gay relationships, strong independant women, and men being evil.

Abby was in the hospital, not all the fireflies were killed, and the upper echoleon knew that Joel was the one who brought Ellie. The fireflly massacre was notorious, it is stated that even Isaac knew it was Joel, which is why he let Abby take so many people in her hunt.

Well Marlene was "queen firefly" and Abby was a former firefly as was her dad.

They do discuss it vaguely in one of the earlier cutscenes with Abby iirc but only in passing.

Tommy was also a former firefly after the initial infection broke out and then Joel and Tommy had a falling out, This is referenced by Joel after Ellie asks about tommy when you're waking towards the hydro dam in the first game.

Plus Marlene would have 100% told the other fireflies to expect Joel and Ellie to meet them at the hospital, Its just that they didn't make it because Ellie had fell unconscious from drowning but hadn't died yet and they were found by a firefly patrol.

Then obviously the whole hospital scene played out the way it did with Joel almost wiping out the fireflies to save Ellie because the surgery would have killed her, resulting in Abby's death.

I'd say the only plot hole is that we don't see if Marlene specifically mentioned Joel by name to any of the other fireflies, And Abby only knew that it was Joel running patrols with Tommy from hearing that her fathers murdere was one of "2 brothers" and the WLF just happened across Joel and Tommy at the beginning and put 2+2 together.

Yeah I got to the scene where Ellie and Dina are dancing and kissing and the white man attacks them for being lesbian. What the hell was the point of putting that into a video game?? And why is it only a select group of people who are always portrayed as victims as if nobody else is ever victimized? Look at all the people who own Teslas right now, for some bizarre reason people are attacking their cars. The owners of these cars have absolutely nothing to do with Elon Musk yet they are relentlessly victimized day and night and no ONE protests it.

Joel was recruited by Marlene personally. They clearly had history. It took them both a year to cross the country. It stands to reason that in that year Marlene shared information about the smuggler that was escorting the single greatest hope of saving the world. It's absolutely not unreasonable for Marlene and the rest of the Fireflies to know who he is.
