Abby said she was going to start picking off the residents of Jackson and torture them for information, the only reason she came out of it with less blood on her hands is because the game hands Joel to her on a silver platter. And all the rest of her crimes were offscreen, she was the top Scar killer she ruthlessly killed people like Yara for years. Although she is undoubtedly an important character her role in the story is to still supplement Ellie’s story, by humanizing her enemy, which is why the game puts more emphasis on Ellie’s bloodbath.

Nooo, don't go telling the truth that, oh boy, yeah the world of The Last Of Us sucks and actually Joel, we love him and he's a 10 character, but he's not a good person at all. We literally killed all the “good guys” who just wanted a cure for a selfish decision. Even Ellie is disgusted by that decision.

We're also not going to say that Ellie's going to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flip out just for revenge that she even wants to kill Abby after she's been tortured and has a dying kid.

I understand the love people have for Joel and Ellie, including myself, but I find it hypocritical for people to complain about killing Joel when we killed his entire faction and Abby's father. Or maybe they're just upset that a girl has muscles.

The story is very good, but people should learn not to be the “main character” and everything I do is ok except when they do it to me.

I don’t think the game wants you to just think Joel was an evil person though, it’s a lot more interpretive. The second game ends with that scene of Joel and Ellie on the porch and when Joel says he’d do it all over again, the game isn’t trying to tell you he’s a stubborn evil bastard—it’s suppose to be understandable.

I think the game’s message was everyone is in the same boat, like I do think Abby’s campaign climax is kind of her going full circle with her being a metaphor for Joel. The WLF, people she’s been friends with for years, are being wiped out but she completely ditches them to save Lev because Lev has become her reason for living / her salvation just like Ellie was to Joel. And now, Abby will never sacrifice Lev not for anything not even to save the world. Also Ellie’s rampage across Seattle in itself is a mirror of what Joel did to the fireflies.

But I also think like yeah it’s ok if someone isn’t sympathetic towards Joel or Abby or Ellie, and their interpretations are valid.
