So just speculations, nothing confirmed.
Yes it's called "bad writing". In reality she would've been confused as ♥♥♥♥ and most likely asked if Joel is familiar with Fireflies, so that she would at least make sure that the man she's about to kill is THE man.
Yeah, just like I speculate most people are able to grasp basic storytelling concepts without arduous and unnecessary exposition.
She literally confirms it's him before killing him though? She says "Joel Miller" right to his face, confirming it's him. He tells her to to give her rehearsed speech and get this over with. Which she does. What more do you want?
I wanna know how she knew that it was THE Joel
Tommy and Joel tell her their names, twice. She kneels in front of Joel and says his full name (Joel Miller) to his face, to which he responds: "Why don't you say whatever speech you got rehearsed, and get this over with." This line right here, that's where she knew it was THE Joel. Mystery solved.
So they tell her their names and she instantly knows that Joel is Joel Miller?
Joel not denying it in that moment essentially confirmed it for her. I don't think it needed any confirmation because it was already obvious, but for you specifically I am pointing out the moment there could be no doubt she knew it was THE Joel.
If you skip the logical explanation then sure it's obvious.
She cute
Ellie had no idea Abby's friend was pregnant and clearly showed remorse when she finds out. So Abby's vindictive "Good" is totally unwarranted since she was going to kill Dina knowing she's pregnant. She could have just killed Ellie then and there. It would have made more sense for her character since we know Abby doesn't shy away from revenge when it comes to people close to her. So why does Ellie continue to get spared by Abby? Where was her "restraint" when she was beating a man to death with a golf club after he just saved her life?
I'm not exactly that interested in retreading old ground or re-earthing a conversation from almost 3 weeks ago though honestly. The beauty of this series is how nuanced it can get, and you'll either discover that you love it or continue to hate it.
Lev was her restraint in that moment and a pivotal character in contributing to Abby's whole character arc.
